Redes sociais e vulnerabilidade relacional : um estudo sobre relações sociais entre indivíduos em situação de vulnerabilidade social do bairro Vicentina na cidade de São Leopoldo – RS

Abstract

Analyzing situations of social exclusion and vulnerability nowadays requires a look at relations networks between individuals and social capital transcending the classic economist approaches or those linked to public policies. It starts from the idea that the analysis of networks of social relations and the concomitant social capital constructed allow to understand the ways in which the individuals act in order to soften or to overcome daily adverse situations, both from the economic as well as sociocultural point of view. The present research aims at analyzing the characteristics of these social relations networks, as well as what they socially produce for these individuals, considering that they mediate access to several important factors for the well-being. Thus, reflections on the notions of poverty, social exclusion, networks of social relations , social capital, social vulnerability and relational vulnerability is presented, being the latter the contribution of the present thesis analysis regarding social relations among individuals in situations of social vulnerability.
