Governança corporativa: um estudo sobre as práticas do conselho de administração em empresas brasileiras do segmento de papel e celulose

Abstract

This article aims to determine the level of adherence of Brazilian paper and cellulose companies to the corporate governance practices recommended by the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance. To do this, the study is an exploratory-documentary research based on public data extracted from the homepages of the BM&FBOVESPA and the companies surveyed by the reference forms. The verification of adherence level was verified through the development of a questionnaire with thirty-five questions formulated from de Code of Best Corporate Governance Practices observing the Boards of Directors of the companies surveyed. The results showed a high level of adherence of organizations to corporate governance practices reflected in the structure of their boards, showing that this segment is well structured and concerned about the effectiveness of polices and corporate governance practices.
