| Abstract (dc.description.abstract) | The present thesis has as its aim to understand the religion of African origin in Lages, Santa Catarina as a space and practice of recognition of the ethnic and racial identity of the subjects. It also aims to put some light on the influences of the formation of the Brazilian national identity in the process of the creation of Brazilian social, cultural and religious imaginary, that is, how the national identity influenced and was influenced by the religions of African origin. It is made clear that the national identity was supported for three central points: the racial democracy, the brazility and the cultural homogeneity. However, it is noticed that there is a possible transition from a homogenizing and disqualifying national identity of the ethnic and racial differences towards a construction of national identity which recognizes these differences and the religion of African origin as spaces and practices which make it possible that the subjects recognize themselves and become recognized in their identity. Therefore, the realization of this research had specific and necessary moments for its realization, such stages which here and there crossed each other`s way during the process of the construction of the thesis such as a bibliographic research in the area of sociology and racial relations, sociology of religions and sociology of the religion of African origin, as well some interviews were performed according to the Methodology of the Oral History with the people who were and/or are involved with the religion of the African origin practices. This way, it was registered the personal life experience of the interviewee, making possible the perception of how the discourses influence and are influenced by the social and historical subjects, in their cultural and religious dimensions. | en |
| Resumo (dc.description.resumo) | A presente tese tem como objetivo compreender a religião de matriz africana em Lages (SC) como espaço e práticas de reconhecimento da identidade étnicorracial dos sujeitos. Visa, também, explicitar as influências da construção da identidade nacional brasileira no processo de criação do imaginário sócio/cultural e religioso do Brasil, ou seja, como a identidade nacional influenciou e foi influenciada pelas religiões de matriz africana. Evidencia-se que aquela foi sustentada em três pontos fundamentais: a democracia racial, a brasilidade e a homogeneidade cultural. Contudo, percebe-se que há uma possível transição de uma identidade nacional homogeneizante e desqualificadora das diferenças étnicorraciais para uma construção de identidade nacional que reconhece estas diferenças e a religião de matriz africana como espaços e práticas que fazem com que os sujeitos se reconheçam e sejam reconhecidos em sua identidade. Assim, a realização desta pesquisa teve momentos específicos e necessários para a sua execução, mas que se entrecruzaram durante o processo de construção da tese tais como: uma pesquisa bibliográfica na área da sociologia e relações raciais, sociologia da religião e sociologia das religiões de matriz africana, bem como foram realizadas entrevistas a partir da Metodologia da História Oral com pessoas que estiveram e/ou estão atualmente envolvidas com as práticas de religião de matriz africana. Registrou-se, assim, experiência pessoal de vida dos/as entrevistados/as, o que permitindo a percepção de como os discursos influenciam e são influeciados pelos sujeitos socio-histórico, em sua dimensão cultural e religiosa. | pt_BR |
