<description>Desempenho acústico de sistemas de pisos com a utilização de lajes pré-fabricadas nervuradas de vigotas protendidas
Lima, Felipe Schneider de
Precast beam-and-block floor systems of prestressed beams and inert filling&#13;
elements are a frequent used technical solution in residential buildings, where&#13;
normative requirements of acoustic performance are applicable. Despite this context,&#13;
there is still a considerable gap in knowledge regarding the acoustic performance of&#13;
this constructive system. This study evaluated the behavior of beam-and-block&#13;
systems, with prestressed beams and ceramic hollow blocks towards air and impact&#13;
sound, analyzing the influence of different blocks and different layers complementary&#13;
to the structural layer. The study conducted experimental (laboratory) and numerical&#13;
(computational estimate, with software SONarchitect®) analysis in 21 distinct slabs&#13;
compositions, with 2 of these compositions replicated in a building for experimental&#13;
analysis in the field. The use of higher thick blocks, although it did not reflect on better&#13;
performance when analyzed slabs composed only by its structural layer, influenced&#13;
the behavior of the systems when added complementary coating layers, and greater&#13;
efficiency assigned by the coating layers was observed in the systems of greater&#13;
rigidity (with the most thick blocks). The results showed that solutions that give greater&#13;
efficiency to the floor systems in relation to airborne sound do not necessarily constitute&#13;
the most efficient solutions to impact sound. For airborne sound, the increase of mass&#13;
from the addition of complementary layers has little impacted systems efficiency, unlike&#13;
expected on homogeneous constructive systems, reinforcing the thesis that sound&#13;
means of transmission in heterogeneous slabs are more complex. Regarding impact&#13;
sounds, the successive addition of layers provided greater efficiency to the analyzed&#13;
floor systems, with significant gains when applying a laminate floor finish layer,&#13;
reinforcing the strong influence of the elastic characteristics of the floor system surface.&#13;
In all systems evaluated in this study, the resonance effect was observed within the&#13;
cavities of the hollow blocks, either in experimental analyzes in laboratory and field,&#13;
eather in the computational numerical analysis. However, the installation of suspended&#13;
plasterboard lining compensated part of the reduced loss of sound transmission&#13;
resulting from this phenomenon, both in the laboratory samples and in the field&#13;
analysis. Still, in the field, the impact pressure levels observeds indicate that the&#13;
presence of a suspended plasterboard lining was able to minimize the effects of a&#13;
probable failure on the damping system (resilient layer), possibly due to executive&#13;
inconsistency in the floating floor (resilient layer). Differences observed between&#13;
estimated and field values may indicate that variables not considered in statistical&#13;
energy analysis methods, such as beams direction and floor system linking with&#13;
adjacent structural elements, influence at sufficient scale the results to change system&#13;
classification before the requirements of NBR 15575-3.

<title>O habitar vertical: um novo olhar para as coberturas urbanas</title>

<description>O habitar vertical: um novo olhar para as coberturas urbanas
Silva, Alana Rodrigues da
Cities are becoming increasingly vertical and dense, resulting in a significant shortage of available space for creating new urban environments. In response to this spatial limitation, building roofs emerge as a viable alternative for creating new spaces for decompression and coexistence in urban areas. However, when creating these new rooftop spaces, it is critical to ensure an effective connection between these elevated spaces and pedestrians on the streets. Furthermore, this integration contributes to the promotion of compact neighborhoods, where walking is encouraged and facilitated. In this scenario, to enable the redefinition of roofs, the research develops specific guidelines that help in defining ideal buildings and uses for this transformation. These guidelines include considerations about accessibility, urban integration and the creation of visual and physical connections between rooftops and street level. To achieve this, these guidelines were applied in the city of Porto Alegre, in the Bom Fim neighborhood, selected as a case study. The choice of this neighborhood was strategic due to its population density and the need for additional living spaces. The findings achieved, together with all the knowledge acquired in the research, demonstrate that it is possible to create leisure and decompression spaces on the roofs, maintaining a harmonious connection with the street level. From the applications carried out and the results obtained, it was clear that this approach can be replicated in any location, not limited to the neighborhood studied.

<description>Desempenho térmico de fachada ventilada
Biazus, Ramom Felipe
The search for constructive solutions that meet thermal comfort requirements has become increasingly relevant in the field of civil construction. In this context, the ventilated facade has garnered interest as an efficient alternative for controlling the thermal performance of buildings. A ventilated facade is an external cladding system that allows air circulation between the outer layer and the support wall, contributing to the thermal control of the internal environment. The thermal performance of a ventilated facade is influenced by various factors, such as the composition and thickness of the materials used, the geometry of the ventilated air chamber, and the overall system configuration. Understanding how these factors interact, and impact thermal performance is fundamental for designing efficient ventilated facades. The objective of this study is to analyze the thermal performance of ventilated facades, investigating the relationship between variables and providing insights for the development of more efficient constructive solutions. For this purpose, computational simulations were conducted considering different configurations of ventilated facades, varying parameters such as air chamber thickness, cladding materials, and spacings. Understanding the mechanisms involved in the thermal performance of ventilated facades will allow for the appropriate selection of materials and system configuration, aiming to make the best use of the thermal properties offered by this type of facade. Additionally, the knowledge gained can contribute to the optimization of projects and the creation of more comfortable and sustainable buildings, promoting the quality of life for occupants and reducing energy consumption.

Concrete is widely used in civil construction due to its cost and versatility. However, some precautions must be taken to avoid pathological issues, such as plastic shrinkage cracking, caused by water loss through evaporation. To mitigate this problem, curing is essential, with wet curing and chemical curing standing out. Another possibility is the use of polypropylene fibers, which are widely applied in industrial floors. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the potential for plastic shrinkage cracking in industrial concrete floors with and without polypropylene (PP) fibers, with and without wet curing, as well as the application of chemical curing. The PP fiber contents used were 0.07%, 0.10%, and 0.13%. Real-scale plates were produced to analyze plastic shrinkage cracking, simulating industrial floor conditions. For the analysis of the reference concrete and the composite, tests were carried out on the fresh state of these materials, analyzing the consistency through the slump test, the bleeding factor, and the material density. Regarding the tests on the hardened state, in addition to analyzing the cracking potential in the plates, compressive strength, tensile strength (measured by splitting tensile strength), and modulus of elasticity were also evaluated. In the fresh state, the tests indicated a loss of slump as the fiber content increased. Additionally, bleeding was reduced as the fiber content increased. Mechanical strengths were reduced with the increase in fiber proportion. Regarding cracking, there was a reduction of about 94% in the composite with 0.10% fibers without curing compared to the reference concrete without curing. However, the only material that showed no cracks was the one with chemical curing, proving that this solution is effective. Thus, it is concluded that polypropylene fibers help mitigate plastic shrinkage cracking, but they do not eliminate it completely.

<description>Diretrizes para projetos de estabelecimentos de saúde militares com sistemas modulares volumétricos
Lopes, Lisiane de Souza Rodrigues
The theme of this research deals with the projects of military health care facilities using the Volumetric Modular System in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. A large number of military organizations are known in this territory, causing a large flow of people to medical and hospital care. Therefore, the need for advance planning of improvements or expansions of facilities is necessary to meet these demands, since traditional construction systems are slow. The research then raises the question of how it is possible, with the use of the Volumetric Modular System, to plan modules of parts of military health care facilities, obtaining flexibility and saving time in design and execution in this way. The general objective of the work was to define guidelines for design methodology for military health care facilities using volumetric modular prefabricated systems, thus improving the design process. Such guidelines are relevant to managers of Military Health Organizations, serving as support in making decisions quickly and assertively, thus providing advance planning of improvements in hospital facilities. The research is based on: a survey of the minimum requirements program for these organizations; studies on the Volumetric Modular System and its advantages; compositional solutions for healthcare facility buildings using this system; and trends and regulations on this topic. The method involved documentary and exploratory experiments on the compositions of what are the base modules and multi-modules of floor measurement, individually and in a compositional way, according to projects and demands of the hospital unit present in military hospitals, with the aim of constituting three-dimensional volumetric modules. The results showed that it is possible to use the volumetric modular system in the preparation of projects for military healthcare facilities using this methodology created based on the&#13;
design guidelines for guidance purposes.

<description>Equidade de gênero e equipamentos urbanos: diretrizes para paradas de ônibus no Quarto Distrito
Fernandes, Helena Tonel
The reorganization of cities in developing countries and, along with this, a change in&#13;
the means of transport offered to their users, caused space to change drastically. According to research carried out in the São Paulo metro, it appears that women are&#13;
the majority in active and public transport, with 53% of women using the bus, train or&#13;
subway. Therefore, as women are the ones who use this urban structure the most, they are also the ones who suffer most from poor access to transport and safety at bus stops. This research seeks alternatives through case studies of creative designs of urban furniture and bus stops that can contribute to a safer and more inclusive space within the city and, thus, encourage the use of public transport. The research, in addition to seeking to make these spaces more inclusive, also seeks to make the city more sustainable.

<description>Alternativas de caminhabilidade para cidades brasileiras de clima tropical: estudo de caso no centro comercial de Imperatriz - MA
Rodrigues, Emilly Nascimento Mota
Discussions on pedestrian-oriented urban mobility have gained prominence as an alternative for sustainable city development. Walkability has emerged as a search for solutions that encourage pedestrian movement. However, the design of contemporary cities, shaped by the integration of automobiles, complicates this experience. In tropical climates like that of Brazil, thermal comfort is crucial, as high temperatures can make walking challenging. The central question is: how can architectural solutions for thermal comfort enhance walkability in cities with elevated temperatures? This study aims to propose walkability alternatives, focusing on thermal comfort for Brazilian cities with tropical climates, with a case study in the commercial center of Imperatriz, Maranhão. A literature review was conducted to relate walkability and thermal comfort, followed by an area diagnosis using the iCam 2.0 method, which included a new category for the specific analysis of thermal comfort. The analysis resulted in proposals for improvements to increase the walkability index. These proposals aim to provide a more comfortable and efficient experience for pedestrians in tropical urban environments.

The accelerated expansion of cities is driven by factors such as population growth, rural-to-urban migration, and economic development. However, this expansion can lead to serious issues if not accompanied by adequate infrastructure improvements, which compromise quality of life and environmental preservation. This study investigates urban expansion on the Island of São Luís, which comprises the municipalities of São Luís, Paço do Lumiar, São José de Ribamar, and Raposa. The aim is to analyze the spatial repercussions of urban expansion in this conurbated area and to identify the impact of informal settlements over the past four decades. The methodology includes a literature review, urban sprawl mapping, compactness index calculation, and data collection on demographic density, urban voids, and distances between developments and urban centers. Expected results include a detailed understanding of urban expansion on the Island of São Luís, an assessment of the impact of informal settlements, the identification of growth vectors, and the provision of guidelines for sustainable urban planning. These guidelines aim to address the 11th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the United Nations, which seeks to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. The data obtained will provide a detailed diagnosis to inform future urban planning, aiming to improve quality of life, reduce inequalities, and promote sustainable economic development in the Greater Island of São Luís.

This research aimed to investigate the application of a supervised machine learning technique to reduce updates and modifications to the parametric design model focused on solar radiation analysis in buildings. Initially, a complex geometry was created through parametric programming, aiming for the model's versatility in different situations. The analysis of incident solar radiation was conducted to understand the energy performance of the architectural design, verifying the input and output data of the parametric model to ensure the accuracy of the analyses. Subsequently, a supervised machine learning technique was proposed to improve and accelerate the solar radiation analysis, automating part of the process and reducing the time required to obtain the desired results. Finally, execution times between the proposed methods and the results were compared using new datasets to evaluate the efficiency of the machine learning technique compared to the traditional parametric programming method. The results obtained contribute to the advancement of architectural design practices with a focus on energy efficiency, providing valuable insights into the application of machine learning in optimizing parametric workflows for solar radiation analysis in buildings.

<description>Ruas completas: estratégias para desenhos urbanos em cidades de pequeno porte
Faleiro, Tailini da Silva Caminha
New needs arise at all times with regard to the use of public space and, therefore, new possibilities for urban designs emerge. With the encouragement of car use, the urbanization process seems to have prioritized the flow of vehicles to the detriment of space dedicated to people. One of the ways to encourage people to experience public spaces is to provide conditions for people to feel comfortable, safe and invited to frequent them. This type of initiative has been growing and, in consequence, new topics have been incorporated into the discussions. One of them is the concept of complete streets. In this scenario, the research studies which variables linked to the concept of complete streets can contribute to obtaining safer and more attractive urban designs focusing on small cities, as traveling with accessibility and safety is everyone's right, although the majority of existing cases include larger cities. Hence, the town of Taquari/RS was selected as a case study. In methodological terms, the discussion is carried out in four stages. The first stage is composed of bibliographical research, focused on the evolution of cities and urban&#13;
centers, and documentary research, aiming to contextualization with the development of Taquari, through files, maps and municipal laws, ending the conceptual theoretical stage. The second stage consists of the study of national and international projects for complete streets, where the main variables used were identified. The third stage presents the case study, in which two streets from the base town were selected, which were analyzed through data collection and on-site observation. And, the fourth stage, is made up of the comparison between the variables most used in complete street projects and the analysis carried out through the field study. As a result, the research contributes to a manual, which presents criteria for choosing variables that apply to small cities, with the aim of disseminating the concept in other cities or similar contexts.

<description>Aspectos comportamentais em ambientes corporativos administrativos: uma análise sobre a percepção humana através da neuroarquitetura
Faistauer, Paulo Igor
The environment can impact the well-being, behavior and actions of users. Therefore, the research emphasizes the relevance of the psychological and behavioral aspects of users in the environment, changing the use perception of the space. This dissertation seeks to study the psychology of human beings when interacting with built environments, exploring the neuroarchitectural approach. Neuroarchitecture aims to understand how the human brain is guided by cognitive stimuli in specific environments, seeking to improve quality of life and productivity. The objective of the research was to verify the contribution of neuroarchitecture to the quality of spaces at corporate administrative offices. The research adopted an integrative systematic review methodology, in which data was found to support&#13;
elements related to neuroarchitecture. This data was compiled using mathematical relationships to create probabilities that describe how variables in the data are related to each other. A case study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the accuracy of the model through a physical survey. This survey explored the behavioral factors associated with the quality of the corporate environment, resulting in the diagnosis of beneficial and specific influences for the user. These findings led to the formulation of recommendations for the innovative project, improving aspects related to the well-being, emotional balance, comfort and performance of users in the focused corporate environment.

<description>Práticas com aplicativos móveis para a fixação de conceitos de acústica
Roth, Patrícia Trois
This research studies strategies that can facilitate the implementation of mobile learning in undergraduate academic acoustics activities. It initially addresses the study of the environmental comfort discipline in its historical context, reporting how it was implemented in architecture and urbanism courses and in the environmental context in which we live. In what follows the mobile learning tool is presented as a support for teaching and an explanation of its importance is developed in the current generation. For this dissertation the focus on the tool is through the implementation of mobile applications available on Android and IOS platforms for academic activities in the acoustics discipline and the selection of these. For the finalization of the initial study the concepts commonly approached in the acoustics disciplines are presented. The research method that began with the literature review of the subjects covered, complements with the insertion of a case study, and is defined as follows: the research begins with the literature review of the&#13;
comfort discipline, the study of the tool of “Mobile learning” and applications, after choosing the discipline “Environmental Comfort III” of the Unisinos Architecture and Urbanism course in order to indicate the content developed for choosing the mobile&#13;
applications used. A selection of applications is made and thus exercises that introduce mobile laerning in the classroom can be proposed. For the elaboration of the exercises were also used researches in which they were applied and national norms for evaluation and comparison of criteria. At the end of this dissertation, five exercises are proposed that express the knowledge to be developed by students from the beginning to the end of the course with collaborative aspects providing the link between technology and academics.

Foppa, Felipe
The expansion in solid waste generation is showing accelerated growth due to increased production and societal consumption habits. The legal framework supports research and covers processes related to the management of solid waste in Brazil, with a focus on the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS). From the perspective of architecture, the aim is to understand the sequence of stages involved in waste management and how they relate to buildings that sort materials from selective collection. The case study development took into account technical documents made available by the federal government, relating them to a list of architectural and technical elements. The objective was to qualitatively analyze the link between the building and the operational flow in three recycling warehouses located in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The study produced a list of criteria, analyzed through a table with a qualitative scale, indicating the potential for improvement in the relationship between space and function. Although the sorting process was similar in the three units studied, the spatial analysis of operational flows highlighted a gap between the spatial arrangement and the operational process, indicating a need to&#13;
improve the buildings. The methodology proved effective in analyzing multiple units&#13;
and can potentially serve as a tool for indicating architectural spatial quality and&#13;
processes in sorting units.

<description>Urbanidade em praças e parques: transformação das relações socioespaciais em ciclos pandêmicos
Salles, Ana Paula Machado
The present research aims to propose alternative strategies for the occupation of public open spaces, specifically squares and parks, considering the possibility of new pandemic cycles. It brings a reflection on the resumption of public spaces in the postpandemic period of Covid-19, which started in 2019, and which has its peak in the current year. In methodological terms, principles inherent to accessibility and urban mobility are used, specifically aspects related to permanence (conviviality) and passages (circulation), which unfold into evaluation criteria under the theoretical support of Space Syntax and the ICam tool which scores indices of Walkability. As a case study of the research, Parque Orla do Guaíba, located in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil, was used because it is a popular living space with different uses that received an intense flow of people in the post-pandemic period. The extensive waterfront has aspects of socio-spatial analysis (pavements for pedestrians, bike paths, open multipurpose spaces, multi-sports courts) that make it possible to simulate scenarios of occupation of spaces that suit future similar scenarios of socio-spatial restriction. The results obtained indicate that the strategies traced after the application of the software Depthmap (which analyzes the spatial syntax) and iCam (which analyzes the walkability index) transform the urbanity of space, attesting to the effectiveness of this urban redesign for future applications.

The coronavirus is not the first causer of a sanitary crisis, other diseases have altered the course of history in different moments of humanity, however, the context is similar and the instability reverberates on the life of the population of regions and countries. This paper seeks to understand the perception of the pandemic impacts on the construction sector under the sustainability perspective, proposing a decision tree as tool for management strategy. When analyzing a construction project, we may mention as possible effects: i) the instability in the cost of inputs, ii) productivity variation, iii) change in life quality and iv) adaptations to the construction site to abide to the disease containment measures. All those aspects impact on the projects’ costs and deadlines. The construction sector usually proposes changes in an ordered manner, with tests, rehearsals and planning, however, the pandemic exposed a scenario of great uncertainty and the market had to quickly adapt. In the aim of mitigating the effects of the pandemic, solutions based on a good management with access to quality information, employment of technology, mapping of risks and flexibility to change may be more effective. This study is characterized as a qualitative-quantitative research, carried out based on the application of a questionnaire to businesspeople and workers within the sector that worked in construction sites during the pandemic, and it allows us to compare the current view with the existing literature on the theme. Regarding the results, both social and economic impacts were perceived due to the pandemic. The recent crisis served as a warning for small companies and showed the importance of mapping the business’s risks. This analysis aims to contribute to improve the managers’ decision making in construction within unfavorable scenarios.

<title>Realidade aumentada para posicionamento de equipamentos em ensaios de acústica em campo</title>

<description>Realidade aumentada para posicionamento de equipamentos em ensaios de acústica em campo
Rossatto, Fernanda Catarina
Due to the urbanization and verticalization processes of cities, urban noise is&#13;
one of the main agents of pollution in large cities and is considered a public health&#13;
problem by the World Health Organization (WHO). In an attempt to minimize the effects&#13;
of urban noise, studies have been conducted to improve the understanding of facade&#13;
acoustics, in order to reduce the impact of environmental noise inside buildings. To&#13;
analyze this impact, ABNT NBR ISO 16283-3:2021 sets requirements for evaluating&#13;
the performance of facade systems in the field. This is a complex process that requires&#13;
careful placement of equipment - sound source and sound analyzer - and&#13;
consideration of all variables at the site that may influence the test, such as the design&#13;
and implementation of the building. Given the increasing use of augmented reality&#13;
technology and its advantages in various sectors, this work aims to explore the&#13;
feasibility of using Augmented Reality as an auxiliary tool for conducting acoustic tests&#13;
in the field, with emphasis on assisting in equipment placement. For this purpose, five&#13;
case studies were analyzed, in which the distance from the facade was measured in&#13;
two ways: manually (using dimensional equipment) and using the Augin augmented&#13;
reality app. The distance measurements were statistically analyzed using analysis of&#13;
variance (ANOVA). It was observed that it is not recommended to use only the Augin&#13;
app for the complete acoustic performance test, as it was not very accurate in terms of&#13;
the sound source position, which could result in not meeting the minimum distance&#13;
requirement specified in ABNT NBR ISO 16283-3:2021. However, augmented reality&#13;
allows for a preliminary analysis of any test location - using the geometry template and&#13;
a physical path of the Reference Tracker. This preview of the testing process is crucial&#13;
as it enables the identification and evaluation of potential sources that could affect the&#13;
test results.

<description>Satisfação do usuário com a ergonomia do ambiente de teletrabalho: revisão sistemática de literatura
Recchi, Andressa Fontoura
The way of working was greatly impacted during the first months of the covid19 pandemic, which motivated several companies and institutions to migrate activities&#13;
carried out in a professional environment such as offices, schools, universities among&#13;
others, to the worker`s homes, which started to telework in an emergency basis. This&#13;
research aims to investigate, through a literature review, the main aspects reported by&#13;
teleworkers that influenced their satisfaction with the ergonomics of the residential&#13;
work environment. As the methodological approach, qualitative and quantitative&#13;
research is used through a systematic literature review of scientific papers published&#13;
between 2020 and 2022 in the Science Direct database. After carrying out the search,&#13;
the material was cataloged using the StArt tool for literature reviews and 37 articles&#13;
that had topics related to ergonomics and to the user`s perception of the telework&#13;
environment were selected. The collected data were entered into VOSviewer software&#13;
to create maps for bibliometric analysis. The results indicate that factors such as the&#13;
shorter time spent commuting and the proximity to the family were seen positively by&#13;
and points such as lack of equipment and adequate environments to develop work&#13;
activities can contribute in a negative way for the worker`s perception of this type of&#13;
work. The results contribute to the discussion about the importance of structuring&#13;
adequate residential environments to receive work activities, with equipment that can&#13;
adapt to the use’s conditions, comfort, and privacy, which should be a concern not only&#13;
for the worker, but of his/her employer too.

<title>Caracterização e avaliação de divisórias acústicas parciais: estudo experimental em escritório de planta livre</title>

Offices are long-stay environments where activities that demand a high level of concentration and cognitive activity are carried out and, therefore, deserve special attention in relation to environmental comfort. Among the factors that influence environmental conditions, the impact caused by high noise levels and lack of acoustic privacy is one of the most relevant in work environments, causing fatigue, stress and decreased productivity. The architectural design is directly related to the acoustic quality of offices. In shared work environments such as open-plan offices, where tasks that demand different levels of privacy and concentration are performed simultaneously, the implementation of a set of architectural solutions that fulfill distinct and complementary functions is essential for the acoustic conditioning of these environments. Researches show that offices that do not have acoustic screens have a low spatial decay rate of speech sound level and a high level of speech intelligibility, resulting in excessively noisy environments with little privacy. That said, the aim of this experimental study is to characterize and evaluate the efficiency of acoustic screens in the acoustic conditioning of open-plan offices. For this purpose, an experimental program was developed consisting on designing and producing acoustic screens, determining their sound absorption capacity through laboratory tests (ISO 354:2003 and ISO 20189:2018) and analyzing their influence on the parameters and descriptors used for evaluating the acoustic quality of open-plan offices through measurements carried out in 3 different room configurations, with and without the presence of screens (ISO 3382-3:2022 and ISO 22955:2021). The results obtained in the proposed experimental program indicate that the screens provided an increase in the spatial decay rate of speech sound level and a reduction in the reverberation time of the room. However, the lack of adequate acoustic treatment on the surfaces of the room limited the effect of the screens and did not allow the desired results for the acoustic qualification of the office to be achieved.

Steel structure roofs have become solutions as a fast and light construction system, serving the most varied types of buildings in the commercial and industrial field. For its sealing, the metallic tile became the main solution for the system as a whole, since its composition of materials allows the combination of extensive service life, mechanical resistance and low thickness that contributes to reaction effects, low overload for the structural system. However, studies indicate that in structures with large spans the rainfall noise can be significantly amplified, resulting in damage to the use of the building and to the well-being of its users. Thus, this work aims to determine the acoustic performance to rainfall sound of roofing systems with metallic tiles, with different compositions. To study this effect on light roofs, using ISO 10140 parameters: parts 1, 3 and 5, a chamber was developed to generate artificial rain and measure the noise caused by the impact on metallic specimens. The samples tested in a simple way and trapezoidal format, were equivalent to the results already published, with impact noise stands in 70 dB, validating the measurement system. By adding a new tile profile, spaced by a structural element and filled with a fibrous core, has reduce the noise caused by the impact of rain in range of 52 dB, thus providing a satisfactory performance, providing a solution for new projects and facilitating the roof retrofit operation existing.

<title>Avaliação das argamassas para encunhamento: aplicadas em parede de alvenaria</title>

<description>Avaliação das argamassas para encunhamento: aplicadas em parede de alvenaria

Pathological manifestations in sealing masonry have been diagnosed early in&#13;
the area of connection between the masonry and the structure, causing a major&#13;
problem in civil construction, especially in the wedge region, so important and little&#13;
explored in research. Thus, there is a need for a specific Brazilian standard for the&#13;
execution and parameters of mortars for wedging. The objective of this work was to&#13;
research, compare data and evaluate the effectiveness of wedge mortars, identifying&#13;
the best flexible wedge mortar that is effective in minimizing pathological&#13;
manifestations in the wedge region. And which mortar dampens the structural&#13;
deformations that are transmitted to the masonry. To achieve the objective,&#13;
compression tests were carried out on walls with five different wedge mortars. The&#13;
deformations of the masonry and the wedge were evaluated, through laboratory tests&#13;
of characterization and mechanical resistance of the mortars, in the fresh and&#13;
hardened state, and the resistance of the mortars applied on walls. The tests in the&#13;
fresh state were carried out to determine the consistency index, specific mass and air&#13;
content. In the hardened state, the properties studied were water absorption, void ratio,&#13;
specific mass, dynamic modulus of elasticity and mechanical compressive and tensile&#13;
strengths in bending. And the wall shear and compression test, in order to determine&#13;
the deformation and the shear strength of the mortars applied in the wedge region. For&#13;
this specific study for the wedging region, it was limited to 4 mortars and polyurethane&#13;
foam, being 3 resilient mortars and 1 rigid mortar. The results of the mortars show that&#13;
the more resilient they are, with the modulus of elasticity and high incorporated air&#13;
content, the more they absorb the tensions imposed on the wall and the occurrence of&#13;
anomalies becomes later, according to the application of axial load in the sealing&#13;
system. In the case of polyurethane foam, which is highly flexible, the anomalies&#13;
appear early, with an applied load of 6 kN. On the other hand, the wall without wedge&#13;
obtained the first anomaly evidenced at 61 kN and there was a rupture at 82.54 kN.&#13;
While the industrialized mortar was the later, the first anomaly was evidenced at&#13;
137.20kN.

<description>Análise da eficiência energética da envoltória de edifícios públicos segundo a Instrução normativa Inmetro para edificações comerciais, de serviços e públicas – INI-C: estudo de caso na UNIFAL-MG
Alves, José Mário Barbosa
Based on the energy crises experienced in Brazil, initiatives were implemented&#13;
to reduce, conserve, and improve the use of electric energy in public buildings. The&#13;
publication of Instruction nº 02/2014 by the Ministério do Planejamento, Orçamento e&#13;
Gestão – MPOG made it mandatory to obtain the “A” (maximum) rating of the&#13;
Etiqueta Nacional de Conservação de Energia – ENCE for projects and construction&#13;
sites in the sphere of the Federal Public Administration. As a procedure for obtaining&#13;
this standard, existing projects or buildings should be submitted for analysis and&#13;
classification of their energy efficiency using the methods provided in Instrução&#13;
Normativa Inmetro para a Classificação de Eficiência Energética de Edificações&#13;
Comerciais, de Serviços e Públicas - INI-C. This research aimed to analyze the&#13;
potential for expanding the energy efficiency of the envelope of a public educational&#13;
building model by proposing strategies to improve its performance. For the case&#13;
study, an architectural model was elaborated with the characteristics and physical&#13;
properties of the constructive elements commonly adopted by the Universidade&#13;
Federal de Alfenas - Unifal-MG. Using the simplified method provided in the&#13;
regulations, the envelope of the model was classified with level “A” of efficiency.&#13;
Although its classification obtained the highest level, improvement strategies were&#13;
proposed aiming at a reduction of the total thermal load of refrigeration to enhance its&#13;
efficiency. The strategies addressed interventions in the glazing of the openings, in&#13;
the roof, in the external walls and the angle of vertical shading. By adopting this set&#13;
of strategies, reductions around 18,36% can be achieved in relation to the thermal&#13;
loads calculated for the basic model.

The present research is related to the continuity of activities carried out in a&#13;
public museum facility – the Museum of Porto Alegre Joaquim Felizardo (MPJF) –&#13;
during the period of quarantine imposed by the coronavirus (COVID-19). It aims to&#13;
list guidelines, general guidelines and strategies for municipal museums in their&#13;
activities at the time of a pandemic, in the face of the challenges caused by social&#13;
distancing measures to contain the virus, taking as a case study the MPJF, which is&#13;
based in an architectural cultural heritage listed by the Municipality of Porto Alegre,&#13;
Solar Lopo Gonçalves. Of an exploratory qualitative nature, the research method&#13;
investigates the solutions that some international and national reference museums&#13;
have implemented to maintain their activities in a time of pandemic, in order to&#13;
demonstrate the measures adopted, comparing them with those implemented in the&#13;
museum. Through spatial syntax tools, the research also seeks to contribute to a&#13;
proposal that could help the case study to distribute the flow of visitors in the&#13;
pandemic and in the post-pandemic period.

<description>Infraestrutura verde e instrumentos de planejamento ambiental municipal
Madalena, Maurício de Andrade
The urbanization process, which replaces natural systems, altering the&#13;
landscape for the construction of cities, causes problems to the functioning of&#13;
ecosystems and to the quality of people's lives. As an alternative to such impacts, the&#13;
concept of a green infrastructure network emerges, a topic addressed by this&#13;
research, considered the state of the art of ecological landscape planning. This&#13;
system is composed of natural and semi-natural places interconnected with each&#13;
other from rural areas to intra-urban spaces, organized in order to provide ecosystem&#13;
services. The aim of the present research was to identify strategies for the&#13;
elaboration of a planning at the municipal level of a green infrastructure network,&#13;
having as a case study the Municipality of Osório/RS. To this end, the methodology&#13;
adopted consisted of a review the regulations contained in the relevant planning&#13;
instruments, through the use of the Worksheet for Review of Municipal Codes and&#13;
Ordinances, developed by the Center for Watershed Protection. As a result, a&#13;
mapping of the stages and application of the plans involved was developed, linked to&#13;
nine planning categories related to the ten places that make up the typology of the&#13;
green infrastructure network.

<description>Interconexões do movimento de pessoas em ambientes internos e entorno imediato: estudo de caso Mercado Público de Porto Alegre
Becker, Ricardo Machado
The Brazilian Sustainable Urban Mobility Policy is based on encouraging walking, walking around the city, but only in open public spaces, such as sidewalks. The theme of the present research is to study criteria for the evaluation of external and internal walkability in municipal public markets, focusing on the Public Market of Porto Alegre (MPPoa), in RS. For this reason, both its accesses and its internal circulations were included, integrating them with the sidewalks of its urban surroundings. Simultaneously, it was proposed to improve methodologies that help in mapping the quality of urban spaces for pedestrians, with the objective of identifying priority sectors that can be intervened. Through bibliographic research, involving the conditions of the sidewalks and the urban socio-spatial morphology, a theoretical foundation was sought for the inclusion of the concept proposed here of 'internal walkability'. In addition to the factors that influence decisions in this mobility – and its possible interconnection with external walkability. Methodologically, to verify the level of service of sidewalks, in the urban area researched, the iCam 2.0 (ITDP, 2018) walkability index was used, and, for the analysis of its spatial configuration, the Space Syntax (SE) and its measures were used. syntax (HILLIER, 1993). The result sought and achieved in the research was to create and establish this new concept of “indoor walkability”. This proves the interconnection between the movement of people internally and externally in a private facility for public use such as the MPPoa, where its 'internal sidewalks' are a natural continuity of the surrounding walkways, interconnecting them.

<title>Análise de declarações ambientais de produtos e certificações de materiais para atendimento dos créditos de materiais e recursos da Certificação LEED</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11757</link>
<description>Análise de declarações ambientais de produtos e certificações de materiais para atendimento dos créditos de materiais e recursos da Certificação LEED
Pinho, Rafaela
The search for sustainable certifications for enterprises has been increasingly targeted, as they add value to various points of the enterprise being certified, whether in economic, environmental and social terms. LEED Certification is an American certification, created by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and is one of the most applied certifications in projects today. For the application of this, prerequisites and credits must be met within nine steps referring to sustainability strategies in different areas of construction. The search for these credits provides points that, when added&#13;
together, guarantee certification at the Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum level. This&#13;
dissertation focuses on the Materials and Resources stage, specifically on the&#13;
requirement of Environmental Product Declarations, seals and certifications of products&#13;
and materials used in projects aimed at certification. LEED Certification, in its most&#13;
current version V4, requires such documentation in accordance with each standard and&#13;
related body, which was not requested in previous versions, when only the company's&#13;
own forms or reports met the requirements. The general objective of the research is to&#13;
analyze the documentation referring to materials, resources, such as Environmental&#13;
Declaration of Type III Product and RGMAT, Forest Stewardship Council Seal and&#13;
Cradle-to-Cradle Certification, together with the Life Cycle Assessment. Its purpose is to&#13;
understand the advantages, similarities and differences between the documents, with the&#13;
intention of meeting the credits of the MR stage of LEED Certification, investigating the&#13;
challenges currently faced for this in Brazil. The methodology consists of bibliographical,&#13;
comparative and investigative research, where from that, the concepts approached by&#13;
the authors, environmental declarations, seals and product certifications were analyzed,&#13;
thus generating results. From them guidelines were obtained through the analysis carried&#13;
out on the processes, sources, information and bodies in force for the adequacy of&#13;
materials. These guidelines, processes and documents were analyzed with the intention&#13;
of demonstrating the benefits that can be generated through adaptations in the civil&#13;
construction environment for suppliers, customers and sustainability consulting&#13;
companies. A list was also prepared containing the products available today in the&#13;
Brazilian market that already meet the requirements of the Materials and Resources&#13;
credits.

Ribeiro, Mateus Fonseca
The limited availability of natural resources raised a global awareness to the necessity &#13;
of optimizing the consumption of these resources in the civil construction. Thermal &#13;
comfort is an important factor in the pursuit of making sustainable buildings since active &#13;
conditioning systems are quite responsible for the high energy consumption in &#13;
buildings. A properly designed natural ventilation is capable to provide thermal comfort &#13;
during most of the time in the many climatic regions of Brazil. The use of thermal &#13;
simulations assists the design process of natural ventilation, in which the context where &#13;
the building is inserted must be considered. The aim of this research is to evaluate the &#13;
influence of the pressure coefficients in the natural ventilation of an isolated residential &#13;
building located in a specific context created in the city of Porto Alegre. The pressure &#13;
coefficients are relevant components of the equations that evaluate the natural &#13;
ventilation in the computer simulation. The method applied in this research relied on a &#13;
Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation to obtain pressure coefficients specific to the &#13;
context created and compared to the widely used AIVC pressure coefficients. In order &#13;
to analyze the impact of the different pressure coefficients, the housing unit was &#13;
modeled in an energy simulation software. Hence, it was simulated with the CFD &#13;
pressure coefficients and the AIVC database pressure coefficients. The results found &#13;
indicated overpredicted levels of air exchange for the AIVC pressure coefficients, &#13;
considering the context evaluated. Differences in hourly operative temperature &#13;
reached 1.05º C between the two models.

<description>Cidade sazonal: planejamento urbano para cidades litorâneas e o estudo de caso de Capão da Canoa

The Brazilian territorial occupation is developed for the most part close to the coast. This model of occupation over time created a series of cities that, not being the capitals or large metropolises, are considered regional development poles, exerting an influencing role over the others around them. Such cities receive seasonal flows of movement in certain periods, usually linked to high temperatures and vacation periods. These flows take place through tourism and second homes, present in the collective imagination of many people who wish to have a second home in order to enjoy their days close to the sea. This seasonal movement, when accentuated, can sometimes cause significant impacts on the city's infrastructure, which ends up having problems at times of greater movement, while remaining idle for most of the year. The occupation of coastal cities, however, is directly affected by this type of use, since it has a fixed population, normally linked to the provision of services and the development of this tourist trade. In this sense, it is noted that the urban development of these cities is focused on a framework for beautifying the spaces created for tourism and second residence. Thus, taking into account this situation, the fixed population often seems to remain far away from these spaces, occupying the areas furthest from the sea and not having the same urban quality as the floating population. Understanding these limits, analyzed from variables that impact the population's quality of life, is essential for urban planning in these cities. In this sense, the objective of this research is to create a tool to support the urban diagnosis of coastal cities, in order to contribute to their debate and planning. The methodology used was a case study with the municipality of Capão da Canoa, located on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, which has the characteristics described above. Through the production and analysis of maps, a methodology was created for superimposing relevant variables for the functioning of the city, seeking to understand the settlement places of fixed and floating populations, identifying the limits between them and the places of greatest need for investment, which they could articulate public power and private initiative. Finally, the results identify this system of spatial limits and the need for better structural planning in the medium and long term.

Felipetto, Tais Jaci
Central air conditioning, ventilation and exhaust systems designed for multifunctional projects are effective and essential for the thermal comfort of users. However, these systems emit and propagate significant noise during their operation and require the implantation of acoustic attenuators strategically positioned along the air distribution branches in order to attenuate the radiated sound waves and provide greater acoustic comfort. Complaints arising from excessive noise perceived by people in their daily lives are commonly verified, and noise pollution is indicated as one of the causes of public health problems (WHO, 2011). However, the lack of awareness and attention to the generation of noise can be requested by those who are disturbed due to the current legislation that brings parameters and tolerances to be respected. The emerging concerns related to noise became a subject of common interest and directly linked to the preservation of the quality of daily life (PATRÍCIO, 2018). The potential noise problems of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - HVAC - systems are evidenced by professionals in the area who seek solutions for each new project. In this sense, two forms of action can be distinguished: engineers are specifying sound-absorbing and vibration-isolating equipment and materials, while architects are proposing walls and slabs consistent with noise transmission reduction parameters (SCHAFFER, 2011). In the current context, acoustic attenuation equipment follows the dimensions of the ducts that direct the fluid to desired environments and have internal cells of a standard format. However, understanding that the spatial relationship, volume and shapes impact on the attenuation capacity of the phonoabsorbent cells (EGAN, 2014), an in-depth study on the subject is necessary.

Conflicts generated by condominium troublesome have been growing steadily, and much of it derive from bordering noise to people who only seek peace. This may not necessarily be linked to the source of noise, but to a precariousness of the old Brazilian buildings, which do not satisfactorily fulfill the ability to isolate noise. With the implementation of the Performance Standard (NBR 15575:2013), rules were established for the assessment of the acoustic performance, thus increasing the requirement of buildings regarding acoustic quality. In this way, this work aimed to analyze the use of a computational tool for simulating sound transmission in a multifamily building in the Bento Gonçalves city, and simultaneously carry out the measurements of field tests, according to the Performance Standard, comparing the results obtained. SONarchitect software was used for the simulation, which uses the calculations proposed by ISO 12354: 2017 to estimate. The field tests have already been carried out in accordance with ISO 16283, a standard that replaced ISO 140, which is recommended for use in Brazil. It showed that several weighted results presented similar values, differentiating it to the maximum in 2 dB for both airborne noise as the impact.

This dissertation is focused on social housing and on the questioning of the processes currently used in Brazil, regarding architectural adaptability and flexibility. The research sought to verify whether the adoption of evolutionary architectural design could contribute to the adequacy of the dwellings to the users' need for distance and/or social isolation and to answer the following questions: can the production of social interest housing collaborate to the new demands caused by COVID-19? Can the application of flexibility concepts together with the norms prescribed by NBR 15.575/2013 indicate a new path to be followed by housing programs? In order to answer these questions, the general objective was to identify the possibility of inserting the concepts of flexibility in addition to the norms prescribed by NBR 15.575/2013 for new houses destined for housing programs so that they are able to cope with the demands caused by COVID-19. The research falls within the Post Occupancy Evaluation method of the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program in the housing developments of the Frei Lency II and Nova Brasília II neighborhoods in the municipality of Concordia/SC. In this research qualitative aspects were analyzed, and the main focus was to evaluate the functional, behavioral and environmental issues, in order to subsidize future improvements in the field of quality in the construction of new HIS. Considering the current pandemic context, many families have spent more time at home, and school has become part of the homes, where people have adopted safety measures that include social isolation. Routines within the home have changed due to the increase of family members at home at the same time or due to the increase of activities to be carried out in the same period of time. In the case of infected family members, isolation within the same residence, shared with healthy residents, has become necessary, as they are often elderly people who are more vulnerable to infection by COVID-19. According to the bibliographies studied, the housing production is marked by decades of absence of essential elements related to spatial quality and urban insertion, and it can be noticed that both in the Frei Lency II and Nova Brasília II neighborhoods, the houses present repeated implantations, standardization of the units, peripheral implantations, absence of regionality and cultural issues, which are recurrent problems of the housing production of PMCMV. In both cases studied it was possible to notice that most of the modifications occurred in the kitchen because it did not have a wood stove, essential furniture for the region's inhabitants, both for heating and cooking food. In this way, it is considered fundamental to develop the project with the use of architectural flexibility concepts, since this criterion must be supported by technical follow-up. Another important point is to allow the dweller to participate in the design process, and thus, to make a reading of each family profile, as well as to enable the establishment of qualitative guidelines for future constructions.

Hygrothermal comfort is the evaluation of temperature and humidity factors on the users' sense of well-being. These variables interfere with the occurrence of condensation and facilitates filamentous fungi growth which can cause respiratory problems for occupants, in addition to requiring maintenance and renovations in the building. To analyze the influence of thermal insulation, ventilation and solar position on indoor humidity rates, this paper studies a unit of a residential building under two solar orientations, three ventilation rates and three materials with different physical properties. Througt the computational simulations were possible to indicate the influence of the solar position on the models, which air renewal rate presented less internal humidity and in which material is harder for condensation occurs.

<description>Avaliação de estratégias de eficiência energética para a reabilitação de um patrimônio industrial
Saccaro, Ana Lúcia
Social memory is an important affective value to be considered in the preservation and rehabilitation of a building. The way they are designed or requalified influences the consumption of energy and natural resources. This research aims to evaluate the behavior of different strategies for rehabilitating an industrial building, which has historical interest, in order to present improvements in its energy performance, through computer simulation. The study case of this research, located in Caxias do Sul/RS, is the first expansion of Saccaro Móveis, which is a worldwiderecognized company in the furniture industry, for its design and high standards, through the handcrafted value of its furnishings. Thus, are defined intervention guidelines which considerer the preservation of industrial architectural heritage and the rationalization of energy use. Furthermore, are evaluated the energy performance of its envelope, lighting and air conditioning systems, individually and as a whole. In the end, it is verified the energy consumption reduction of the proposed models. For this purpose, it is used energy performance computer simulation, through EnergyPlus software, as the methodology. From this, firstly the study case is simulated with its original materiality. Then, are simulated three envelopes, and in the first one the common glass is changed to insulated, laminated and laminated insulating glass types. In the second envelope is added thermal insulation in the rooftop, and in the third one, is applied also in the walls of the envelope. Thus, is verified that the Envelope 02 presented a better energy performance than the others. Consequently, this model is simulated considering passive strategies, like natural ventilation and lighting control. This set of strategies results in an 18% reduction in annual total end uses energy consumption compared to the Base Envelope. Then, is possible to observe the importance of the relationship between climate, materiality and passive strategies to minimize the energy consumption in a building.

<title>Desenvolvimento de contrapiso autonivelante para redução do ruído de impacto em edificações</title>

<description>Desenvolvimento de contrapiso autonivelante para redução do ruído de impacto em edificações

DELAZERI; J, C. Development of self-levelling subfloor to reduce impact noise in buildings. São Leopoldo, 2021. 111 f. Master's thesis of the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism, University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), São Leopoldo. 2021. The growth of cities and population brings benefits to the inhabitants and an increase in civil construction, however, it causes the discomfort generated by external and internal noise, and therefore the acoustics of buildings are extremely important. Simultaneously to this, there is a need for performance study evidences. In this dissertation, the acoustic potential of self-levelling subfloors developed with partial and total replacement of sand by residue from the footwear industry, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), was studied. The following replacement contents were 40%, 60% and 100%; and impact noise measurements were carried out in the laboratory on plates of 2.50 cm, 5.00 cm and 7.00 cm thick, with subfloor plates molded on the slab, with a size of 80 cm x 80 cm. As sand was replaced by EVA in the dosages, we had a greater reduction in impact noise, which was noticeable from the frequency of 500 Hz. Regarding the variation in the thickness of the plates, there was no improvement in the sound pressure level weighted normalized impact, and there was an inversion of the position in the logarithmic curve due to the damping. From the preliminary study on small size boards (80 cm x 80 cm), a board the size of the acoustic room of 16.28 m², 5 cm thick was molded, using the line with 100% replacement of sand by EVA in order to confront the performance of the two plates. It is concluded that the performance in the test was identical. Thus, this study provided a reduction of Ln,w 23 dB with the use of a self-levelling screed with 100% EVA residue, when compared with the performance of a 12 cm thick solid concrete slab without the use of screed. Regarding the standard NBR 15757-3 (ABNT, 2013), making an analogy to these results in the field and laboratory, the development of self-levelling screeds is classified as an intermediate level of performance. Contributed to sustainability, as it uses the waste generated by the industry, and in reducing the weight on buildings.

In order to attend the needs and demands of the citie’s population, it has undergone countless transformations over time. In general, these changes have altered the urban dynamics and the quality of life of each cities population, mainly taking into account the significant increase in population density and urban structure since the 19th century. All these changes led, in an attempt to mitigate the impacts that would be caused by the urban fabric’s spread, the zoning’s creation and the search for the separation of uses in each area of the city. This segregation of urban activities still causes conflicts to the urban development of a county and even though the use’s complexity, cities that are compact, dense and sustainable have been debated for some time, the urban activities importance in this debate makes this topic one of the focal issues to be further explored. This research seeks to present, through a decision and permission’s support tool and prohibition of urban activities in Brazilian’s counties, another way of using activities as a parameter for these decisions. Each group of activities has it’ss own characteristics, especially those of medium and large size, as well as each urban area that develops faster than it is possible to update legislation, so, using this information, considering the current reality of each area, can be a way of minimizing conflicts caused by legislation that is often reactive and created with the greatest intention of rsolving existing situations but not proactively planning. The results from the analysis of the tool’s application, that use the Gramado county as a case study, shows that it is possible to use urban activities as a parameter of urban planning in a deeply way and to use the current reality of each urban area as a way of speeding up the approval and the analysis processes within brazilian countie’s city halls, in addition to assisting in decision-making on the permits and prohibitions of activities in each area of the city.

<description>Home office ou lar-ateliê?: novas configurações de ambiente de trabalho para profissionais da indústria criativa
Heineck, Amanda Corbellini
Home offices are structured work spaces in the homes of several professionals, but, according to a conception pre-established in the popular imagination, the configuration of these spaces basically presents a table, a chair and a computer, where the professional develops his work activities. With another look, this study promotes the deconstruction of this dominant thought, seeking a new concept of home office for professionals in the creative industry. The work begins with a bibliographic review on themes that involve the concept of home office, from which seeks to expand knowledge about this type of work in a residential environment. Massimo Canevacci's proposal, presented in his study The Polyphonic City: an essay on the anthropology of urban communication, is used as a guiding method of the research. The methodology of the work follows three stages: the first focuses on the mapping of professionals who work in the home office, presenting a final selection of ten professions analyzed; the second consists of observing the chosen contexts, with the analysis and interpretation of the data, in which the home office spaces are understood as fragments of the study; and, finally, the third stage is characterized by the proposal of design guidelines derived from the information collected in the previous stages. Still in this stage, a phase of project experimentation is carried out, in which one seeks to apply the knowledge generated in the conception of a new concept for the home office, which turns out to be the home-studio. From this conception, a visual representation of models of environments is developed for the selected professionals. The findings achieved, associated with the knowledge acquired in the study, enabled the verification of several variables and possible configurations of residential work spaces.

This dissertation addresses the design of ceramic tiles not adhered to façades,&#13;
which are fixed to the support base by means of a metallic structure that, when&#13;
positioned, creates an air chamber that can be ventilated or not. This construction&#13;
system can be used in both new buildings and retrofits. Better performance&#13;
conditions can be achieved through decisions such as: the width of the air chamber&#13;
and its degree of opening, the use or not of thermal insulation. Constructibility, on the&#13;
other hand, can be promoted through definitions such as: the adoption of systems&#13;
with the least number of components or the standardization of façade elements. This&#13;
work aims to systematize the main information for decision making in ceramic tile&#13;
projects not adhered to façades with a focus on performance and constructability, in&#13;
order to make the process simpler and more efficient. The steps that make up the&#13;
method are as follows: bibliographic research, in which the main information about&#13;
the system was compiled; systematization of said information in technical tables, in&#13;
order to create design parameters; definition of graphic and descriptive documents to&#13;
be presented in the preliminary study, preliminary draft and executive project;&#13;
presentation and analysis of elevations and construction details that should constitute&#13;
the executive project. The adoption of design parameters, as well as the definition of&#13;
its scope in the main phases, adds quality to the design activity and to the&#13;
construction process, preventing any interruptions due to lack of definition or lack of&#13;
specifications. In addition, as a result, there is a direct impact on costs due to the&#13;
lower incidence of waste of materials and labor time, as well as rework or incidence&#13;
of pathological manifestations over the life of the building. Other benefits that can be&#13;
achieved are: meeting the performance expected by the user, energy efficiency of&#13;
the building and simplicity in the system assembly process.
