Estudo de análise de vulnerabilidade em uma ampliação de área de armazenamento de produtos químicos inflamáveis
Pereira, Alessandra Baum
The article presents a vulnerability analysis applied to the expansion of a storage area for flammable chemicals. The application of the analysis is a mandatory condition for granting an operational license, following the regulations of FEPAM (a government agency in the state of Rio Grande do Sul that regulates, manages and issues legal licenses). The process was applied in a real company, a petrochemical industry in the same state. The study followed the entire sequence of activities in the FEPAM Risk Analysis Manual. As a result, 23 scenarios were analyzed and the two most critical were presented in detail, using computer simulations to bring a quantified impact on the site and in the neighborhood. The results show that even the most serious scenarios do not pose relevant risks to workers and the local community, and the factory can continue with the license and operate in the area.

The study of the global stability of tall reinforced concrete buildings has been subject of extensive research on the structural desing field, resulting in significant advances in this area. The simplification coefficient 𝛾𝑍, presented by Franco e Vasconcelos (1991), became remarkable, but its limitation to determine only the translational effects of structures led Franco (2003) to introduce another simplified method, this time represented by the simplification coefficient 𝛾𝜃, which has the purpose of assessing the structures’ sensibility to global torsional effects. However, there is limited research on this subject available in the literature of the field, fact that highlights the need of further investigations on the topic. The main objective of the present study is to analyze the accuracy of applying this coefficient to quantify the global second-order effects due to the torsion of the building. The metodology was based on the modeling of four 20- story buildings on the software TQS v24, which were taken from Moser’s (2022) dissertation. In the occasion, the referred author analyzed the influence of geometric and load asymmetries on the torsional effects of the structures, with assistance from the software SAP2000. Initially, the center of torsion of the proposed models was defined by the application of the graphic method, also introduced by Franco (2003). Thereafter, the value of the simplification coefficient 𝛾𝜃 was assessed for each of the horizontal load cases. This assessment enabled its implementation to enhance the global first-order torsional effects, ultimately achieving the total horizontal displacement of the structure. Finally, it was conducted the comparative analysis between the horizontal displacement obtained through the application of the aformentioned process, the values found by Moser (2022) with the assistance of the software SAP2000 and ultimately by the iterative process P-Δ. After the analysis, it was verified that the differences between the calculation methods implemented by the softwares TQS and SAP2000 are so pronounced that they turn the comparative analysis unfeasible, at least when the matter is the horizontal displacements. On the other hand, when compared with the iterative process P-Δ, it was observed that the simultanous application of the simplification coefficients 𝛾𝑍 and 𝛾𝜃 is proven to be effective in certain situations. However, there are some limitations to its use, requiring the adaptation of certain variables to ensure that the results are consistent with reality.

The evaluation of occupational exposure allows health and safety professionals to measure the noise level that workers are exposed to during their working life. Beauty center professionals are part of a population that suffers the cumulative effects of exposure to noise, compromising their quality of life. The objective of this work is to evaluate the occupational exposure of hairdressers to the noise caused by hair dryers in a beauty salon in the city of Porto Alegre. The exposure assessment was performed by measuring noise with a dosimeter during business hours, applying the techniques described in the labor and social security legislation, complementing the information through a questionnaire. The results showed that the preventive measures depends on the regulation used as a standart. Regarding the perception of noise by professionals caused by devices, equipment, among others, it is understood as a common sound in beauty salon.

Oliveira, Tiago de Abreu
This study focused on the Ergonomic analysis of working conditions in an office, especially for workers with eye diseases. The aim was to promote health and wellbeing by applying Ergonomic principles to increase these professionals tenure in the labor market and reduce early retirements, with an emphasis on visual disorders. Tools such as the Déparis method of the SOBANE strategy, the Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) method, and visual comfort measurements with a luxmeter were used, following NHO 11 guidelines. The study was divided into two stages: initially, meetings with participants suffering from eye pathologies using the Déparis method; followed by a quantitative assessment of Ergonomic risks, which was subdivided into a full-body assessment using the ROSA method and an analysis of visual comfort according to NHO 11. The results showed that Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a significant problem, with the Déparis method indicating 44.44% of the items as unsatisfactory, revealing various risks. The ROSA method was essential to quantify Ergonomic risks and associate discomfort with the participants activities, highlighting the importance of monitor position. It was found that the lighting levels were inadequate, with averages of 954.2 lux in the office and only 147.9 lux in the convention room. It is concluded that the application of ergonomic principles can significantly improve the health and well-being of workers, contributing to their retention in the workplace and reducing the demand for INSS benefits.

The growth of social networks brought as negative factor the spread of hate speech, which impacts society negatively. Due to the large volume of shared comments, manual classification becomes infeasible and the use of computational techniques can assist in the automatic identification of offensive opinions in Portuguese. This article demonstrates the analysis of Supervised Learning methods for rating hate speech in Portuguese. More specifically, techniques already demonstrated in English language research with good results will be employed. The results for F1-Score showed viable the application of techniques such as Mutilayer Perceptrons (80 %) and Random Forest (77 %).

Skillbridge: uma proposta de ferramenta gamificada para auxiliar no processo de mentoria
Ricardi, Felipe
The mentoring process can be aporached on many ways, having as its core a menthor of- fering their experience to the mentee. Studys point out that this process can surface features, such as creativity, and ease the learning process on students that are part of classes with a huge number of people. In the existent applications, we can see that generally there is a specific tar- get scope, being it a group ou people or an area of study. There is also niche where the mentee can hire the mentoring service, being it as a subscription or hiring a single session. A tool that approaches the process without being attached to a specific organization or without the needing to hire someone was not found. The present work aims to make available a platform that makes possible the connection of menthors and mentees, allowing the track of the process and management of achievements obtained by mentoring process. Through works studied, results were found that the usage of gamification concepts aid on incentive to cooperation. Thus, these concepts will be added to the system on the form of goal management, that will be added by the menthor to their mentees, and by sharing achievements that the mentoring process made possible. Therefore, the goal is creating a community amongst the participants of the mentoring process. To put into practice the research findings and understand what the potential users thinks about the current proposal, an interactive prototype was created, based on a small scope of the requirements. The prototype was evaluated by 18 people, scoring averagely 89.38% in the System Usability Scale (SUS). This shows that the prototype has an acceptable experience, being possible to evolve to a final product that approaches the goals of the present work.

To be competitive in today's knowledge economy, startup companies must effectively use available knowledge to implement their innovation and development strategies. Consequently, it is necessary to identify which knowledge management practices are used by these companies. This study aims to identify the knowledge management practices used in startup companies. For this, qualitative research was conducted having as a source of data, interviews with startup founders. The relationship between the knowledge management practices used and the critical factors for the development of innovation in the context of startups will be discussed. Interviews were conducted with the founders of startups installed in technology incubators.

Gestão e compartilhamento de conhecimento em uma empresa de software: análise das práticas de gestão de conhecimento em um ambiente de uma equipe remota
Moraes, Pablo Rafael de
Nowadays, to obtain competitive advantage encompasses many factors. Knowledge management (KM), which treats knowledge as one of the main assets that an organization can have, is an enabler for companies to achieve great results if the KM processes are implemented in an effective manner. With the growth in the globalization mid 2000s and with the arrival of new technologies, the concept of remote work, also known as telework, which for years had been present, was widely spread across companies around the world. In this work, an exploratory research through a survey was conducted around the processes of KM in support teams of a software company located in the south region of Brazil. For confidentiality reasons, the company described in this work is referred to as company “ABC”. The advent of the SARS-CoV 2 pandemic, mostly known as COVID-19, and the imminences brought by the disease turned the attention of many companies to the remote work, making these companies realize that the continuity of their daily operations would be possible thanks to the possibility of remote work. This was particularly noticed for companies that operate in the Information Technology (IT) area. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and by demand of local authorities, the support teams from the ABC company had to start operating fully remotely and virtually. Therefore, the main objective of the present work is to find an answer to the question “How to foster the creation and sharing of knowledge in teams that work virtually and remotely?”, considering the software support teams of the ABC company. For the study, a bibliographic research was primarily conducted around the theme of KM and knowledge transfer, in which it was elucidated what are the phases and types of knowledge available, the SECI model, which possesses this name due to the phases that compose the model (socialization, externalization, combination, internalization), in addition to the study of the barriers for knowledge sharing in remote teams, knowledge management systems and knowledge articles. This study emphasizes the socialization phase of the SECI model, which was highlighted as the most affected phase by the emergence of remote work among the support teams from the ABC company, also providing other recommendations that were made possible through the applied questionnaire and the analysis of data concerning the creation and maintenance of knowledge articles.

Estudo de caso: uso da piezoeletricidade em pavimentos, mantendo suas características de geração de energia

Estudo de caso: uso da piezoeletricidade em pavimentos, mantendo suas características de geração de energia
Carvalho, Flávia Renata Prestes
Several highways in the country contain a large flow of vehicles. These, with their speed and weight, generate heat and friction on the pavements. Currently, this mechanical energy is wasted. With the aim of converting the vibration energy of vehicles into electrical energy, this work studies the incorporation of piezoelectric materials to make roads more energy efficient. Piezoelectricity is the effect of crystals that, when subjected to external pressure, deform their magnetic field, generating a potential difference that results in electric current. The purpose of this work was to analyze 20mm diameter piezoelectric tablets below the flexible pavement coating layer, through laboratory and field tests. In the laboratory, tests were carried out to evaluate the rigidity and performance of the system under loads of 10Kg, 50Kg, 150Kg, 250Kg and 350Kg, maintaining the characteristics of energy generation and aiming at the durability of the system during the succession of loads. In the field, the differences between the loads of passenger and SUV vehicles were evaluated, as well as the effect of speeds of 10Km/h, 20Km/h and 30Km/h, with the aim of maintaining the supply of energy microgeneration and allowing a considerable energy generation, even under adverse external conditions in which the material was applied. A positive contribution to the mechanical behavior in the laboratory and field was observed in relation to the effect of loads. Confirming previous studies, the greater the application of weights, the greater the effects of the electric current on the system. Thus, in the tests carried out, it was possible to validate the energy generation characteristics and the emissions generated were as expected. Therefore, this work proposes a renewable energy alternative in places with large movement of people and vehicles and the system is favorable for its integrity to be continued in future studies.
