Ferreira, Mylene
This study deals with the dynamics of the intermediary circulation (FERREIRA;&#13;
ROSA, 2011), having the communication process by imagetic flows involving Petrobras as a privileged phenomenon for the observation of marks of the environment in which we live, a society in the process of mediatization (GOMES, 2017). We take as research case the&#13;
articulations between the (co) advertising, journalistic productions and the manifestations of social actors interacting in media devices (FERREIRA, 2006). We observe how the&#13;
associations of meaning, especially the imagery metaphors, are operationalized until the&#13;
construction of what we consider as image-synthesis (ROSA 2012). A qualitative and&#13;
semiological project (VERÓN, 1997; 2014; FERREIRA, 2013; 2016), presented through an&#13;
imagetic and analytical mapping of one of the possible approaches involving Petrobras from 2014 to 2018. As a research problem the search to understand how the communicative process in focus was presented and constituted, and for that they are established as key questions: How do the meaning associations about Petrobras operate in the intermediary circulation to mean the company? And, how do these associations relate to attempts to update the social and symbolic imaginary linked to the company, given the impact of the mediatization process? Using the indicative (BRAGA, 2008) and abductive (SEBEOK; UMIKER-SEBEOK, 2014) method, two communication circuits (BRAGA, 2012) are constituted: “Storm” and “Reinvention”. These are circuits analyzed by both textual and figurative image flows (VERÓN, 2004). With the images considered in “flow ahead” (BRAGA, 2012), with intelligibility conferred by operations performed in the circulation process (ROSA, 2012), we pursue the following specific objectives: a) to seek articulations of meanings and imagery references about Petrobras , with historical symbolics and fragments of the organizational imagination being debated and updated between 2014 and 2018; b) identify, in the dynamics of the intermediary circulation, the Tempest and Reinvention communication circuits, being formed by materialities - from heterogeneous sources and formats, operationalized in imagetic flows; c) to perceive mediatization marks in the discursive processualism observed, involving production and recognition of meanings about Petrobras, coming from both the organization itself, as productions of journalistic institutions and manifestations of social actors interacting in media devices. Observing the profusion of meanings, media operations are outlined both to propose, question and / or (re) build Petrobras's foundational symbolic (CASSIRER, 1994), as well as traces of an imaginary / symbolic perlaboration that - inspired by the triad “remember, forget, working through” of Freud (1914), lead us to proposals of updates of the social imagination (CHARAUDEAU, 2006; 2017) for a widely communicated, spoken and “communicating” organization (BALDISSERA, 2009). We seek here to portray a complex social process, with imaginary circularities (ROSA, 2012) that appear and disappear continuing the case, which ends up being exasperated (FORD, 1999; 2002), that is, a case alive in the unpredictable sea. of mediatization.

This research discusses the process of creating avatars in contemporary&#13;
technoculture. Through this reflection on what avatars are, we seek to understand&#13;
their implementation and use as personas, with the main goal of comprehending how&#13;
avatars evolve in different experiences within technoculture. More specifically, we&#13;
aim to understand the context of contemporary technoculture, question the&#13;
convergence of avatars in various digital representations, grasp the context of&#13;
avatars in digital publications, and comprehend the culture of convergence and the&#13;
imaginary worlds in which avatars are situated. We depart from an epistemological&#13;
assumption of imaginary worlds as addressed by Flusser and the convergent worlds&#13;
of Jenkins. However, the methodological journey is supplemented with the&#13;
archaeology of imaginaries by Kluttenberg and Benjaminian constellations,&#13;
establishing a methodology with a constructively critical approach concerning the&#13;
production of avatars and their relationship with the involved communities. This&#13;
methodology enables a representative consideration of avatars and the objectives&#13;
behind their placement or positioning, established both by users and in conjunction&#13;
with the accompanying companies. It was possible to conclude through the three&#13;
collections developed that users have the need to represent themselves in the virtual&#13;
realm. This representation can be both identical to the current self and also an inner&#13;
self of each user.

Dietrich, Carolina
This research aims to theorize and comprehend the emerging contagions of play on TikTok, providing insights into the authentication of techniques and perceptions of videogamegraphics images (Bittencourt, 2018) in playable filters. Beginning with an analysis of the dimensions of audiovisual proposed by Kilpp (2010), the study seeks to establish a solid foundation for the development of investigation, authenticating the audiovisual aspects of the object. The research utilizes Bittencourt's method of videogamegraphics images (2018) to dissect playable filters (the object of study) into their machinic, audiovisual, and ludic layers, exploring the temporal and technical contagions present in playable filters. Through media archaeology, the aim is to reconstruct and understand the techno-cultural traces, tracing the development of image techniques to playable filters and identifying relevant turning points. For data collection and analysis, a cartographic approach is adopted, combined with archaeological action (Fischer, 2015), allowing for the registration and authentication of the layers of contagion present in images produced by TikTok. Finally, Kilpp's framework methodology (2010) is employed to analyze and describe the different layers and framing of elements present in the images, considering their technical, aesthetic, cultural, and communicative specificities. Through these directed constructs, the research seeks to address the question and established objectives, contributing to a broader understanding of the contagions of play on TikTok and their implications for the culture of computational software and the production of videogamegraphics images.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13688</link>
Gendered disinformation, a concept that emerged within the broader field of disinformation&#13;
and communication studies, has been widely used by the Brazilian conservative wing as a&#13;
political strategy to disseminate large-scale lies about women and minorities. In recent years, this form of disinformation has been identified in the discourse of politicians such as former president Jair Bolsonaro, one of the key figures responsible for promoting what has been labeled as “gender ideology,” which has become a classic example of this category. In light of this, the present work aims to identify, drawing from content analysis and the concept of gendered disinformation, the fact-checks conducted by the Lupa agency during the second round of the 2022 presidential elections on its Instagram profile.From this point, we thematically categorized the topics and identified the meanings produced in the&#13;
disinformation process, highlighting, for quantitative analysis, those linked to gender&#13;
disinformation. Lupa does not have a specific manual for covering these issues, nor did it&#13;
engage in prebunking posts on Instagram. Nevertheless, the outlet maintains a range of&#13;
partnerships and participates in events with sectors of society dedicated to media literacy.&#13;
Among the findings of this research, the importance of imagery in fact-checks stands out for the users who follow the page, as many of them, based on their comments, appear to already have a pre-established agenda.

This dissertation explores the mediatization of hospitality through a mediatized case study of the Airbnb platform, used by travelers and hosts on a global scale. The study analyzes the communication strategies developed by the Airbnb platform highlighting how it establishes dialogues and mediates business relationships in a circuit of accommodation offers. Grounded in the theoretical frameworks of mediatization, circulation, and interactional matrices, the research draws on the works of Eliseo Verón (2009, 2013), Pedro Gilberto Gomes (2017), Stig Hjarvard (2013), among others.Methodologically, the study adopts a multi-level approach, combining the author's dual perspective as both a user and researcher. Through a detailed analysis of Airbnb's interface, language, iconography, and logical and algorithmic processes, the mediatized case study aims to reveal how the platform creates a highly complex interactive environment that promotes trust and a sense of community among its users.The findings align with the transformative impacts of other digital platforms on traditional market segments, demonstrating how Airbnb's operational and communicational logics are operationalized in this social and economic context. This work contributes to a broader understanding of mediatization in contemporary society, particularly in how digital platforms influence cultural and communicational practices.

The algorithms of culture (Ferreira, 2020) are agents of mental experiences materialized in culture, highlighting the logics of racialization, operationalized by branquitude (Bento, 2002; Campos, 2023; Cardoso, 2011; Ramos, 1995; Schucman, 2020) , and the Afro-referenced logics of resistance, which emerge as responses to the racism present in society. Mediatization as a reference interactional process (Braga, 2006) reconfigured social interactions, expanding discursive spaces, but also provided new forms of racial oppression, such as those produced and reproduced in the online environment by digital algorithms. Given this, this dissertation aims to investigate the algorithmic logics installed in culture and digital media, from the perspective of mediatization, based on the circulation of meanings as a space for tension or reification of stigmatizing and racialized logics present in public space. The construction of the research case was developed based on episodes of delivery of racialized search results taken from the Google search engine. The research is based on the abductive method (Ferreira, 2012) and uses the mediatized case study as a methodology (Weschenfelder, 2020). The cases of algorithmic racism present in the Google search engine are mobilizing hypotheses, producing questions such as how the production of meanings generated by the algorithmic logics of the Google search engine, based on the delivery of racialized search results and put into question media circulation, activate Afro-referenced circuits, registered on different digital platforms, and journalistic media? How do Afro-referenced circuits and journalistic media pressure Google to change these results? The circulation of meanings (Fausto Neto, 2013; Ferreira, 2013; Rosa, 2019) exposes practices of resistance to these racial oppressions produced on Google by racial biases instilled in digital algorithms, with circulation promoting social values (Rosa, 2019). In view of this, the mediatization process, together with the historical actions of black movements as educational and political agents (Gomes, 2019), was central to the emergence of widespread racial literacy initiatives in society. From this, the configuration of Afro-referenced circuits has resistance and denunciation of racialization logics on digital platforms as a social response to confront media institutions that promote racialized algorithmic logics.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13142</link>
The present study evaluated meanings about self-care produced by brands of feminine aesthetic products on Instagram during the year 2022. The analysis focused on 20 different brands: Bars Over Bottles, Be.nato Biocosméticos, Bio Extratus, Biouté, Bumbum Cream, Care Natural Beauty, Celina Locks Beauty, Dermafeme, Foreverliss, Gummy Hair Vitamin, Hidratei, Just For You, Lavoê, N'Arte, Océane, Pink Perfect, Simple Organic, Tania Bulhões Pele, The Body Shop Brasil and We Pink. The general objective of the study sought to investigate and analyze in a comprehensive and in-depth way the meanings about self-care produced by brands of feminine aesthetic products on Instagram throughout the year 2022. The specific objectives outlined theoretically proposing the notion about self-care, analyzing the complexities and relationships that involve the Instagram platform environment and refine perspectives on feminism and post-feminism, in order to identify the relationships that permeate postmodern society and consumption intertwined with this social network. The methodology used in the study was Grounded Theory (TF), which mobilizes a categorization system in the empirical field to later allow theoretical references to emerge from theoretical sensitivity. The results of the study indicated the understanding of the meanings related to self-care, as presented by brands of feminine aesthetic products on Instagram, is influenced by the intersection of post-feminist ideals. These ideals objectify the female body, considering it as an artifact to be constantly disciplined and monitored through care practices. Furthermore, it is highlighted that the discourses that propagate this logic present a peculiarity in relation to the platform environment in which they are disseminated, as well as a performance involved in the mechanism of influence over women and a biotic notion that permeates postmodern society, considering the interaction between organism and machine. Therefore, self-care must start from a premise of conceptual and subjective reflection, manifesting itself as a life maintenance system and adapting to individual needs and the singularities of each female trajectory.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13141</link>
Garcia, Renata do Nascimento
In this dissertation, we address the dispute of meanings based on the case of Duda Reis and Nego do Borel as a mediatized event. The relationship between these two celebrities was marked by an intense media sphere, in the context of Brazilian media. This research seeks to describe and understand how the case is constituted. To do so, we rely on journalistic reports, as well as comments and publications from collectives. The Duda Reis and Nego do Borel case, in our research, consists of a time frame of 16 months, - June 2020 to March 2021. As for our analysis, we rely on the descriptive methodological perspective of four moments, which are named as follows: Rejection and Family Conflicts, The Mediatized Breakup, The Reality Show and The Legal Conflict. Choosing moments helps us as methodological references. We follow a process that analyzes each of the moments, understanding the operations that describe each of these moments. As theoretical support, we rely on sources that discuss the following notions: Mediatization (Gomes, 2016), Mediatized Case (Weschenfelder, 2019), circulation (Rosa, 2016; Fausto Neto, 2018) and celebrities (Simões, 2012). From the analysis, we realized the power of collectives in the narration and construction of meanings based on the mediatized case.

This research investigates the development processes of the Globoplay streaming platform from the perspective of audiovisual technoculture, with special attention to the tensions established in the relationship between viewer and user. The aim is to present the interfaces of Globo's video platforms in different phases, focusing on television memory and the changes in the relationship between the broadcaster and its audience. To do this, we adopted a methodology based on media archaeology (Fischer, 2008; Huhtamo, 1997), using the practice of excavation as a means of understanding the characteristics of the media. We represent this analysis in layers, addressing Design, Television Memory and Technoculture. This metaphorical approach, inspired by geological layers, aims to recover old interfaces by excavating the company's official websites and the Wayback Machine. This perspective made it possible to go through journeys that reveal video insertions in the company's main digital projects, prioritizing observation in the television memory phase (KILPP, 2005). The analysis of the layers included temporal divisions, represented by a timeline that points to the past, present and future, and was carried out in two stages: a first round that allowed the problematization to mature and a second round that was structured around the construction of the user, interface/platform and television memory layers. The study considered concepts of continuities, ruptures and transformations to identify the evolution of the relationship between the broadcaster and the public.In addition, interviews were conducted with Globo Digital Hub users and professionals, as well as a brief comparative experiment.Conceptually, the research sought to dialogue with audiovisual technoculture (TCAV, 2013) and communication studies (Cannito, 2010; Jenkins, 2009; Shirky, 2011), also using the concept of platformization (Van Dijck, 2018).With regard to the use of interfaces, contributions from Human-Computer Interaction (Manovich, 2001; Norman, 1998) and Interaction Design (Roger, Sharp &amp; Preece, 2013) were incorporated.

Rambo, Mariane Carolina Packes
This research aims to understand which forms of attack occurred against female journalists and which meanings may be perceived from the attacks against Patrícia Campos Mello and Vera Magalhães during the Bolsonaro government. As methodological procedures, we utilize multiple cases study (YIN, 2015) and analysis of the construction of meaning in digital networks (AQUINO AND SCHUCH, 2022). From the analysis of cases and the theoretical framework, we perceive two forms of attacks against the journalists: 1) discrediting the journalist in her role and 2) attacking their reputation – aiming to corrupt their public image, both as “respectable” women (considering the patriarchal view of society) and also as serious and impartial professionals (calling them communists, for instance). About the perceived categories of meanings, there is criticism and compliments for both those who attacked and those who were attacked in the comments, e that also journalism in general is villainized by this group. Furthermore, we perceive that, in all attacks, other women were offended and aggressed, often utilizing the same argument and offense targeted to the female journalists.

The central theme of this study is an in-depth understanding of the influences of beauty filters on Instagram on the definition of beauty, female identity and communicative citizenship. The general objective is to analyze how beautifying filters and the possibilities of editing photos on Instagram have an impact on the way women define what is beautiful, and how they construct their communicative citizenship. The specific objectives are (a) to analyze how Instagram contributes to the formation of beauty standards and female identity in the current context; (b) to problematize how these communicating subjects define what is beautiful and materialize it through their posts on the Instagram platform; (c) to investigate how communicative citizenship is influenced by the use of filters on Instagram, considering self-image and the meaning of beauty for women; (d) explore women's perception of the representativeness of different bodies, ethnicities and ages on social media, in order to understand how these standards impact the diversity of conceptions of beauty; and (e) analyze the role of research and personal reflection in the researcher's training as a professional, thinker and agent of transformation in the field of communication sciences. The research problem proposed for the study was: "how Instagram's photo filters and editing possibilities affect the way women define beauty and construct their identity. How can the sight of their own edited image change their perception of beauty and create a material desire to turn the image into reality?" To this end, the exploratory and descriptive method was used, through a literature review, documentary research and ethnographic research in a digital environment, with the application of two collection instruments, namely questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained from the interviews was analyzed qualitatively, using in-depth content analysis, and the questionnaires were treated qualitatively and quantitatively using discourse and content analysis. The results obtained suggest that the construction of female identity is an intricate process, influenced by various factors beyond just physical appearance. Valuing diversity and deconstructing unrealistic beauty standards are highlighted as essential elements for building a healthier and more positive identity. Observing ambiguities in women's communication on social media reveals a notable insecurity associated with the use of these platforms. Although some women claim not to be affected, the analysis indicates that, within the dynamics of digital interactions, there is a significant influence on the adoption of standards suggested by the platform itself. The dichotomy between self-perception of resistance to external influence and evidence of compliance with the platform's expectations highlights the complexity of online interactions and their implications for the construction of women's digital image. This scenario highlights the importance of questioning and putting established standards into crisis, recognizing the multiplicity of perspectives and the need for a critical approach to influences on social networks.

The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the phenomenon of mediatization through a study case: the police raid on the Casa de Acolhida São José, which took place on March 17, 2021. The case received widespread media coverage and was mediatized. It involved social actors from different realities such as women, children, religious people, the community, supporters and anonymous people. It involved different social fields, from the police to the religious, legal, international and institutional relations, circulated on communication channels in Brazil and abroad and reached micro and macro environments, triggering different actions of interaction. As it took place in a house which responsibility is of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry, this was the main institution investigated in terms of analyzing how the case was publicized. The theoretical foundation was based on the study of these main concepts: mediatization, circulation, social processes and fields, language, communication and religion. The in-depth study of the topic was based on the case study, as well as the methodology used to support the analysis. In order to achieve the proposed objectives and answer the guiding question of the research, we undertook a journey of observation, monitoring and analysing media materials that were triggered by the case, from photos and videos, to speeches, public notes, materials in newspapers and digital social networks, and the internal repercussions in the congregation involved. The whole journey had as its backdrop, to perceive, identify, analyse and investigate the phenomenon of mediatization in flux, circulating between the various moments and stages of the case from the zero point of the event in 2021 case from the zero point of the event in 2021 to June 19, 2023, the date of the last material analyzed.

Vargas, Carlos Eduardo Saraiva
This dissertation explores the Brazilian audiovisual advertising memory present in the content creation practices of YouTubers. Throughout our investigation, we conducted an exploration on the YouTube platform, seeking to understand how Brazilian audiovisual advertising memory, initially produced for television, is showcased in the context of content production practices by YouTubers. To achieve this, we selected two channels as observable units that utilize the theme of audiovisual memory as their main content: Canal 90 and Arquivos 1000. Initially, we provided a contextualization of the trajectory of the YouTube platform since its inception, exploring its characteristics and its interactions with users, advertising, and contemporary technological culture. Building on this contextualization, we progressed towards the central issue, empirically analyzing our observables and establishing connections with modalities of audiovisual content storage. Along this path, we conducted online excavations, inspired by the perspective of media archaeology, to find elements that compose and characterize these audiovisual memory practices. During our investigation, we focused on the remediation of these contents, with emphasis on the practices of YouTubers. Pertinent reflections emerged regarding the presence and practices of these creators within the platform. Furthermore, we identified significant changes occurring in these practices over the analyzed period. In this process, we grounded our reflections in the contributions of authors such as Georges Didi-Huberman (2006), Gustavo Fischer (2012), Lev Manovich (2001), Jay David Bolter and Richard Grusin (1999), Walter Benjamin (2006), Henri Bergson (2006), and Crystal Abdin (2018). This theoretical contextualization allowed us to identify how some YouTubers, through their channels on the platform, strategically use audiovisual advertising memory, creating a variety of content with distinct approaches.

Nichele, Carine Filippi Chiella

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13123</link>
Fernandes, Angela Carvalho
The research presented aims to promote a study on topics related to educommunication, citizenship and communication, carrying out an analysis of the communication products of the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS), to understand how it is viable to observe the presence of educommunicational aspects and citizens in these communication channels. Therefore, the study aims to elucidate how educommunication and citizen aspects bring information and knowledge to society, interpret the institution's communication products, propose improvements in educommunication processes and reflect on the impacts that educommunication and citizenship generate for society. Based on these reflections, it will be possible to answer the problem question that is being inserted in this dissertation: “How do MPRS communication products inform, educate, problematize, guide, question the understanding of citizenship exercises for subjects?”. The concepts of educommunication, citizenship, communication and communication products will be addressed throughout the research, with the aim of reflecting on these themes and questioning the aspects underlying this context. Furthermore, it is necessary to include a chapter that explains the role of the MPRS, in order to highlight the importance of this institution in society and enable readers to understand what its role is. Therefore, it is essential to describe and analyze the means of communication used by the MPRS, which will help readers better understand the details of this study. The theoretical framework is configured by arguments from: Soares, Kunsch, Felice, Sodré, Aristóteles, Duarte, Marshall, Alves, Soares, Edgar Morin, MCLuhan, Peruzzo and Baccega. The methodology was defined based on the strategies proposed by: Bachelard, Bonin, Bourdieu and Maldonado. It could be seen that educommunication and citizenship collaborate with society in the process of claiming their rights, and, therefore, the MPRS could improve the incorporation of these elements in its communicative production. After carrying out the exploratory research, it was found that the MPRS could improve its approach in relation to educommunicational issues present in its communication materials, which would contribute to helping society better understand its rights and duties within the scope of citizenship. The MPRS could develop greater intensity educommunication strategies, so that it builds a communication environment of great knowledge for society.

This work seeks to investigate what we understand as communicative dynamics in the self-presentation of adolescents who benefit from a social project run by a non-governmental organization in the south of São Paulo (Vocação) based on their understandings and ideas about intimidation, privacy and visibility, using the performance as an analytical axis and theoretical tension. As operative concepts, we seek to appropriate fundamental debates about identity, intimacy and also performance, in addition to their links and crossings with modernity, considering digital spaces and the specificities of platformed environments, along with all their infrastructural and material tensions and contradictions. To reach the desired objectives, we seek from a transmethodological perspective, a way to mix methods, producing by hand a way of perceiving and envisioning the specific from: 1) online questionnaires, 2) semi-structured interviews and 3) ethnographic inspirations, which we consider understanding under particular nomenclatures; felt and perceived from the proceduralities of this work. We noticed, in the uses and appropriations of six teenagers, that consumptions are idiosyncratic even when correlated from a practical point of view; note that: 1) there is a growing concern in labor dimensions of/in the construction and performance of self on platforms, 2) that visibility is managed and highly reflected, 3) that subjects appropriate functionalities to obtain more control over who can see what they publish and 4) that we can read the performances based on ritualities of actions such as account deprivation, publication concealment, creation of new profiles and even the use of affordances proposed by the platform

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12986</link>
This dissertation aims to describe and analyze, from the perspective of mediatization, consumer readings of G1 reports on Instagram about the Ukrainian War expressed through comments on the content in question. We aim to understand the reactions provoked by the news about the mediatization of this War, as well as opinions that&#13;
users express in this kind of community of exchanges that is formed within the space&#13;
of the comments, according, still, to the temporality cadenced by the rhythm of the emissions. Our research problem is: how, in terms of evaluations, values, opinions, is&#13;
the perception of readers of the G1 reports on Instagram about the Ukrainian War,&#13;
according to comments left in publications on the subject, on the G1 profile? To achieve&#13;
the objectives of this research, we opted for a qualitative methodology and the content&#13;
analysis technique will be used along with a sample of 21,278 comments made in 3&#13;
publications on the G1 profile on instagram between February 2022 and January 2023,&#13;
each post corresponding to one of the phases in which we organize the total content&#13;
collected. To account for this total number of comments, we read and classified these&#13;
comments into sets of themes for each of the posts and separated some examples to&#13;
demonstrate these sets. Initially, all publications on the subject were collected over the&#13;
period of one year mentioned above, and, after that, this sample of publications was&#13;
selected. It is a War with which we only have contact, in Brazil, through mediatization,&#13;
therefore, our analysis is based precisely on this vision. We also use a literature review&#13;
of concepts that converge with the nature of our object, such as the notions of mediatization, journalistic mediatization, event, scheduling, journalism and images,&#13;
participation and journalistic ethics. For that, we make an overview of them to describe&#13;
and understand the scenario of the unfolding of the War by the receivers of these products.

<title>A tecno(contra)cultura do rock brasileiro em 1986</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12733</link>
<description>A tecno(contra)cultura do rock brasileiro em 1986
Albuquerque, Ananda Zambi de
During the 1980s, Brazilian rock — or “BRock” — became a relevant spokesperson in favor of the end of the civil-military dictatorship. In addition to the musical sphere, the cultural universe of BRock was also linked to its visual dimension, once artists depended on inserts, posters, photos, videos, clothes and other materials to publicize their work and consolidate their identity. In this context, the video clip format became a landmark of BRock’s visuality of that period. This research intends to understand the audiovisual aspects of Brazilian rock in the 1980s, manifested specifically in video clips released in 1986, the most prosperous year of the BRock movement. Epistemologically, the research is part of a technocultural perspective, based on the concepts of Shaw (2008) and Fischer (2013), and adopts the Benjaminian cartography as methodological ballast for the incursions on the observed materials. The analyzes highlight the main characteristics of the audiovisualities of the video clips in question, presented in three constellations: urbanity, performance and reminiscence, in which remnants of updated countercultural traits in the audiovisual technoculture of the 1980s were identified. So, the research concludes that a certain techno(counter)culture that took shape in the national territory in the 1980s was decisive for dissatisfaction with the current political and social normative systems to be manifested through music, with the BRock movement – even if incorporated into show business – an important agent causing aesthetic ruptures and breakdowns in the media field, which contributed to shaping the identity of an era.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12589</link>
Dias, Yuri Cougo
This work aims to verify how the streaming platform, FGF TV, reconfigures the territorialities of gaucho football and what discourses the communicating subjects generate in these media processes. To achieve these results, we contextualize what kind of visibility there is in these transmissions; the discourses adopted by professionals about the territorialities of each team; the interactivity of fans on the platform and the conditions for these media processes to take place. To obtain the results, a series of methods were used, with emphasis on transmethodology and theories of discourse analysis and intellectual craftsmanship, so that we could understand in more depth the effects that these transmissions generate in the gaucho territorialities. In a brief description of the final results, it verified the importance of FGF TV for the phenomenon of media democracy, of transmitting games of teams that did not have visibility in the traditional means of communication. Also, we came to understand that the teams represent not just a sport, but a series of cultural, social and economic matrices of the cities/regions in which they are located. That is, visibility transcends the sporting aspect, thus proving the civilizing role that is intrinsic to soccer.

<title>Sério que travou?

<description>Sério que travou?
Frankenberger, Sarah Tatsch
The present research investigates the perceptions and circulations about the failure in the infrastructures of the Brazilian platform Globoplay in the discourses of the subjects. To this end, the subjects' speeches about failures within the platform and websites Twitter, Reclame Aqui and Downdetector were analyzed, and also in two specific cases of failure on the platform in 2021. The research covered the concepts of platform society, platforms and platformization, the infrastructures of platforms, infrastructural and television imaginaries, as well as opening the cases theorizing about Globoplay and Globo television. The research found that the frustrated, upset, incredulous and angry perceptions present in the speeches are a construction of an infrastructural imaginary of Globoplay and Globo, and related to an expectation of experience that is interrupted by the failure. Therefore it was found that the perceptions of the subjects, materialized in their discourses about failure, are based on ‘layers of frustration’, due to the lack of correspondence in their imaginaries about Globoplay and Globo television.

Rocha, Raissa Lemos
Mediatization is a dynamic phenomenon that interferes directly in the contemporary social context. In the digital communication stage, its characteristics become even more relevant due to the potential effects it is capable of generating, different from what is provided by analogue and traditional means. With this, the relationship between the mediatized society and the person's way of acting and living their experiences is close, and indicates that in reality the advances in digital are a reflection of man's experiential need, since everything that involves digital communication has the purpose turned to the person and only fulfills its activity if it is directed to someone. In order to understand the specificities involved in this process, we propose to observe the advances in communication and the main considerations about the evolution of the means until mediatization in the digital communication stage pointed out by Pedro Gilberto Gomes, to then expose the characteristics of the human experience analyzed under the heading perspective of Karol Wojtyla's personalism. The objective of this investigation is to identify the particularities of the new current ambience, enhancing the protagonism of the person and his behavioral performance to manifest the aspects of his way of being and existing in the world.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12586</link>
Veiga, Mariluce Lopes Pedroso
The dissertation seeks to analyze, in educommunicative perspective, how the artistic expressions of the collective Papel Mulher on Instagram operate for the construction of communicative and gender citizenship. The research was conducted from epistemological and methodological premises based on Transmethodology (MALDONADO, 2011; 2013; 2015; 2019; BONIN, 2011; 2016), as a critical, interdisciplinary, multimethodological dialogical experimentation that articulates the epistemological, theoretical, methodological and technical dimensions. The problematizations, in order to interpret the artistic expressions of the collective and their contributions to gender citizenship, were divided into 3 axes: educommunication (FREIRE, 2013; 2016; 2017; KAPLÚN, 1998; RODRÍGUEZ, 2016; HOOKS; 2017; 2020);&#13;
communicative citizenship (MATA, 2002; 2006; CORTINA, 2005; MARTÍN- BARBERO, 2014; MATTELART, VITALIS, 2015; VAN DIJCK, 2020) and Gender&#13;
(LUGONES, 2014; LOURO, 1997; BUTLER, 2003). From the perspective of Digital Ethnography (HINE, 2004; PINK, 2016) observations, analysis of posts and interactions on the Instagram platform, as well as the application of questionnaires and interviews with the founder, member and followers of the collective Papel Mulher were carried out, all mediated by digital platforms. The results of the research pointed to the development of an educommunicative praxis carried out by the collective Papel Mulher, which takes into account the political, ethical and aesthetic dimensions, and that in articulation with Instagram, other digital platforms and the urban environment, contributes to the construction of reflections, dialogues and productions related to communicative and gender citizenship from the artistic expression of women.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12585</link>
Mallmann, Igor Fernando
The Russian-Ukrainian war, in addition to large-scale war conflicts, provoked clashes in the media, cultural, political, economic spheres, among others. The proposal of this dissertation is to comprehend how this dispute of meanings about the war took place in the Brazilian context- marked by deep historical and ideological questions, as political discourse and the anticommunism that updates itself. Thereby, the question of this research sets up in this way: How the dispute of meanings about the Russian-Ukrainian war occurs under the Brazilian ideological and sociocultural perspective, from the Imaginary, Real and Symbolic dimensions? Through the ambience of mediatization, this study is guided by the objective of investigating the meaning disputes in the circulation underlying the posts referring to the Russian-Ukrainian war on Twitter, focusing the ideological clashes and the Brazilian sociocultural context. The theoretical discussion, brings, as the main frameworks: the triad Imaginary, Real and Symbolic (LACAN, 2009), applied to the mediatized semiosis (FERREIRA, 2016); the relation between media and social imaginary (ROSA, 2019a), in circulation (FAUSTO NETO, 2008); symbolic conflict; derealization (SODRÉ, 2021) and euphemization; problematization of the Russian-Ukrainian war as a mediatized conflict. The corpora of observables are composed of three set of posts from Twitter profiles, including comments/ responses: Set 1- apparitions of the soviet flag on the battlefield; Set 2 – the character of Vladimir Putin associated with the soviet past; Set 3 – reports of Mariupol siege, including associations of Azov battalion to the Nazism. The research object was approached from abductive, deductive and indictive inferential movements, besides the reflection of evidentiary paradigm and mediatized case. To analyze the observables, a methodological experimentation which works the circulation as value assignments operations, between production and recognition, in the Imaginary, Real and Symbolic dimensions was built. Among the results, we can highlight the finding that the incoming images and reports of the war have a great power of mobilization, however the retroaction about the discussion regarding the war through the social tissue, the conflicts that are occurring in other circuits are equally relevant. The operations of debating agents mobilize social imaginaries, bringing unpredictability to circulation, overflowing the meanings, with recontextualizations and assemblages.

All experiences nowadays are permeated by mediatization, from the simplest to the most&#13;
complex, they are imbued by our relationship with technology. We are users when we browse these technicalities for leisure or work, and when we need to purchase products. There, our trails are data, which when interpreted by the platforms, allow advertisers to direct our navigation according to algorithmic logics, which are determined by commercial logics. In this context, this study observes the crossings that occur during the browsing experience, seeking to metaphorize the paths that users take and how the algorithms manage these crossings that converge to the act of buying. The purpose here is to understand these dynamics and bring to light the processes that occur during the experience. for this, we use mediatization studies to unravel the particularities of the new digital ambiences. The methodology adopted included bibliographical research with critical analysis of the author's perspectives, interviews with consumers, and online autoethnography to collect empirical data, an exercise in which we simulated the purchase intention of a smartphone on Google and online retail store Magazine&#13;
Luiza. It was possible to identify, among other things, that the user who browses identified and with tracking and cookies permission, receives 66% more crossings than the one who browses without such permissions. We also noticed an 88.8% preference for Google while product searching, in addition to the platform's protagonism, demonstrating that recommendation system algorithms are intelligent agents in dispute. Finally, we note that users seek to exercise counterforces in relation to the directions received, using subterfuges to avoid them, which can demonstrate distrust in relation to the tracking mechanism and the companies involved.

This work explores how approaches to the Cancel Culture are presented from the Reality Show Big Brother Brasil 21 in its relationship with audiences on Twitter. Its general objective is to understand the main frameworks and performances that reverberate in this edition of the program and end up being moved by the consequences arising from the cancellation. The theoretical approach of this research uses the Frame Theory and the concept of performance and its ruptures in digital culture, taking into consideration a systematization of the cancel culture from the BBB 21 perspective that allows us to analyze the different frameworks on the subject. The methodology was qualitative and had as its main keys the combination between frame analysis in relation to audiovisual and the Frame theory that generated different methodological frameworks. As final results, we observed that the frameworks and performances are aligned with the concepts of self-reflection and allo-reflection in the different stages of cancellation. The notion of authenticity and performance ruptures end up having an impact “inside and outside the house”, as observed in the analysis of the audience’s Tweets, generating feelings and experiences for the participants, account managers, and the general public.

Michaelsen, Martina Belotto
This dissertation addresses the construction of meanings that emerge from speeches and episodes performed by former president Jair Bolsonaro. Based on journalistic reports, publications and comments by social actors in digital media, this research observes the circulation process and the triggering of imaginaries, which derive from pronouncements, generating circuits and valuations. To capture this circulation movement, we look at five episodes that constitute interactional circuits. These five circuits are interconnected and embrace Bolsonaro's trajectory between the years 2018 and 2022. In this research, we refer to these episodes as "Facada", "Nossa bandeira jamais será vermelha”, "Coveiro", "Frescura e Mimimi" and "Imbrochável". As a methodological apparatus, we opted for the mediatized case study, which allows us to study different means and temporalities. Our analytical movement is divided into two moments: an analysis of the brands and operations of each circuit; and in a crosssectional analysis, which looks at the similarities and differences between the episodes, also including the elaboration of image boards - a proposal of intersection between the studies of the imaginary and mediatization. To discuss this research case, we called upon authors who discuss mediatizaton (BRAGA, 2015), circulation (ROSA, 2016; FAUSTO NETO, 2018), circuits (BRAGA, 2012), meanings and discourses (VERÓN, 1980; 2004) and imaginaries (KAMPER, 2018). Analyzing multiple observables at different times, it is possible to perceive the creative potential of social actorization in the dispute for meanings and in the elaboration of imaginaries.

Cunha, Luis Henrique Souza
The dissertation analyzes how the RuPaul’s Drag Race program unfolds in the digital&#13;
environment through fandom, aiming to understand the senses triggered and the&#13;
taste performances expressed from concepts such as platforming and convergence.&#13;
Based on the use of the analysis of construction of meanings in digital networks,&#13;
inferences are made about the comments coming from the group RuPaul's Drag Race&#13;
Brasil.OFICIAL, present on Facebook. Thus, plots are woven that bring together&#13;
events from the program and their reverberations in the digital environment, which&#13;
generate network conversations that trigger different meanings. Experimentally, the&#13;
metaphor of the prism is used as a diffuser element of the triggered senses, where it&#13;
is possible to find intersections that reveal the fandom's expressions of taste and,&#13;
based on Queer Theory studies applied to Communication, movements that infer&#13;
certain prejudices arising from of heteronormativity.

<title>Ciberacontecimento e sentidos da reportagem: mulheres trans presas enfrentam preconceito, abandono e violência</title>

<description>Ciberacontecimento e sentidos da reportagem: mulheres trans presas enfrentam preconceito, abandono e violência
Souza, Juliana Borba de
This dissertation investigates the cyberevent (HENN, 2014) and the senses triggered&#13;
by the repercussions of the report Trans women prisoners face prejudice, abandonment, and violence, broadcasted on the program Fantástico, from Rede Globo, on March 1st, 2020. The report, presented by Drauzio Varella, portrays the reality of trans women prisoners, sentenced in male prisons in Brazil. When interviewing Suzy de Oliveira dos Santos, and when they both realize that she had not received any visitors for over eight years, Drauzio hugs her and says: "Loneliness, right, my daughter? The gesture resonates in digital social networks. To understand the eventual potency (HENN, 2013a) of the case, it was necessary to identify which senses were triggered by the repercussion of the report. Therefore, our methodological approach uses the Analysis of Sense Construction in Digital Networks (HENN, 2014). The corpus was collected in the original publication of the official profile of Fantástico, from Rede Globo, on Twitter, on March 2, 2020. The 35-second video features the exact passage in which Drauzio hugs and says the phrase to Suzy de Oliveira dos Santos, in which 2,035 comments were collected via Twitter's API. To identify the singularities and which elements explain the propulsion of meanings, we analyzed the first 200 comments of each period of the repercussion, named: Heaven-2 to March 7, 2020; Purgatory-8 to March 9, 2020; Hell-10 to March 30, 2020. According to the outbreak of senses, we understand how the cyberevent&#13;
(HENN, 2014), from the repercussion of the report, affected journalism. It is also possible to observe the interconnections between hate speech, gender agendas, and the disputes created in the dynamics of digital social networks. Moreover, the research concludes that the processes of disinformation and partisan discussions, enhanced by the pandemic of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, causing coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2020, amplified the dimensions of this episode.

This dissertation investigates how the media circulation about deaths by Covid-19&#13;
transforms the meanings and imaginaries of death and how the mediatization logics&#13;
are mobilized in the representation of death. The choice of this problem is due to the&#13;
importance of discussing the impacts that were caused by the Covid-19 virus in&#13;
Brazil, which had its first appearance in March 2020. In the Brazilian scenario, the&#13;
virus, in addition to triggering major problems in the field of health, it also caused an&#13;
alarming number of deaths, emphasizing the gaps in the economic, social, and mainly political scenario. In this way, this research reinforces the role of communication in the face of an event that affected all social areas. To explore this study, the news portals G1 and Folha de São Paulo will be used as research objects, along with the Instagram profile COVID Photo Brazil, which presents a diary of the pandemic in Brazil. Faced with a complex event, the empirical materials will be explored and analyzed together with theoretical studies of mediatization (Couldry and Hepp, 2020; Fausto, 2009), of the event (França, 2012; Verón, 1995), of death (Elias, 2001; Ariès, 1982), circulation (Rosa, 2019; Ferreira, 2017), image and imaginary (Rosa, 2008; Said and Calado, 2021). As a result, it can be understood that from the production of news and publications on Instagram, the images stood out and influenced the construction of different media imaginaries.

<title>As remixabilidades audiovisuais nos challenges do tiktok</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12425</link>
<description>As remixabilidades audiovisuais nos challenges do tiktok
Palma, Gabriel Rocha
This research aims to understand the audiovisual remixability characteristics present in&#13;
TikTok challenges, through an analysis focused on the audiovisualities of technoculture. The app has been gaining active users and becoming increasingly relevant as a social media platform for creating and sharing short videos with the use of visual and sound effects. The remix culture is presented as a concept and a practice that shapes popular culture and highlights the technocultural dimension of the platform. The importance of TikTok as a platform for the creation and diffusion of remixes through the "cut-out" effect, which deeply remixes the videographic embedding technique. TikTok’s media heritages and, such as the influence of the camara obscura in the photographic dimension and the state of televisual flow, as well as the commercialization of time on the platform, are also recognized. The methodology employed in this work combines practices of media cartography and archeology to slow down the frantic pace of the network and examine its properties, thus composing the layers of audiovisual remixability, which were characterized as: body, memory, game, platform, database, and interface. The analysis of the layers revealed the importance of the body as an image in the challenges and how it represents a way of remixing the written script in a visual choreography. Through the remixability of memory, the relationship between the durations and updates of past&#13;
and present times that constantly occur in platform productions was perceived; and through the game layer, the dynamics of collected challenges, where participants propagate specific dances or movements to challenge other users to repeat them, creating a game mediated by the platform that updates and modifies with each new instance. In the technical dimension, the prominence of marketing strategies in the platform's actions as a business is perceived. In this sense, the TikTok database acts in favor of the brand's guidelines, favoring certain visual and sound resources in the production of new media objects. The importance of the interface and software&#13;
is conceptually emphasized, starting from the visual metaphors used, which allow&#13;
understanding the communication between the application and the users in the process of&#13;
challenge production. By combining various strategies already used in other media and devices, TikTok offers its users deeply remixed audiovisual tools that, when interfaced and combined with their bodies and repertoires, update audiovisualities and foster the emergence of audiovisual products and formats with TikTok challenges.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12001</link>
In this work is a theoretical deepening on the image of overexposure in cinema over a prism of the intuitive method. With analysis of 48 films, of which 18 composed final sampling, it begins methodologically the flanerie in motion of framing the empirical object in the films (BENJAMIN, 2009). With the empirical pautable opened, the technical image of film overexposure, provided cartography and dissections are performed in the different films. From the findings in the dissection, a mapping of incidences of overexposure images was proposed, analyzed and organized according to their coalescing senses were understood. Distinguishing from mere mismeasures, procedures for identifying and confirming the incidences of significant overexposure in the images were developed and put to the test, resulting in constant tensioning of the concept of deimaging. The image of overexposure is initially framed by an Identity Triad, which are tecnometological procedures developed especially in research. The materiality of these occurrences was evidence of image and presented themselves in a dimension of existence of this concept, deimage, as that of imagery that seeks its nullity, on the technical path of full overexposure. The research works with the concept of the technical image of overexposure end up affirming its imagery eloquence, allowing itself to last in the senses and be signable. The constructs then seized were arranged by relative constellations of likelihood and physical logic, non-realistic and dreamlike constructs, constructs of narrative and assembly logic, and within this assembly dialectic plus a grouping by ellipse eloquence.

Tremarin, Alexandre Camilo
With the advancement of technology and the increasing shift from a media society to one influenced by mediatization, the social field of fashion was forced to transform itself. In this context, this analysis investigates the influence of the public in the creation of fashion products, since their digital interactions with brands, investigates the market operations and discursive logics of the Chinese fast fashion brand Shein, and relates it to others in the same segment. It intensifies a market dispute and opens wide discussion about piracy, sustainability, ethics, and use of data. The hypotheses are that datification reconfigures the field of fashion, fashion largely appropriates culture, and there is a circular relationship between fashion, culture and data. The main objective is to investigate the transformations of the fashion market from the changes of the media, especially considering the datitification platforms, managed by algorithms. Among the specific objectives are: to investigate whether the success of brands is in fact achieved to a greater degree when the consumer plays an important role in the creation process (PUCHASKI, 2008); seek analogies and homologies between the empirical cases under analysis; inferring from other experiments in fashion, in a comparative way; understand individualism in fashion and connect with the fashion market's own desires and offers. The research design comprises a set of procedures and techniques with a qualitative approach, in which the use of Grounded Theory was defined (GLASSER &amp; STRAUSS, 1967), with emphasis on the Straussian current (CORBIN &amp; STRAUSS, 2008). The main finding is that the media circulation on digital social media networks of Shein provides an amplification of its economic benefits. At the same time, it takes advantage of the promotional activity carried out by the media collaboration of its own consumers and incorporates it into the brand's advertising circulation.

<title>Midiatização, algoritmos e plataformas: agenciamento e circulação de emoções no Spotify</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11827</link>
<description>Midiatização, algoritmos e plataformas: agenciamento e circulação de emoções no Spotify
Batista, Guilherme Martins
This work arises an anguish due to the lack of information and understanding of the circulation phenomenon (BRAGA, 2007; FAUSTO NETO, 2012; FERREIRA, 2013; 2017) that occurs on the Spotify music streaming platform. Following the three axes of epistemological interface - Communication, Materialities and Semiotics -, the objective of this dissertation was to build the object of study, composed of the individual consumption of profiles on the platform, from the algorithmic management established in this environment, and to recognize what are its conditions of production of meaning (FERREIRA, 2017) considering the algorithmic logics, and what are the limits of suggestion existing in the construction of reality on this platform. By specifying these objectives, it is about: (1) understanding the platform and its activities; (2) recognize the processes in which the experience is given by the consumer; (3) list the evidence that provided the abductive inferences established here; (4) and, finally, to record the conclusions established after two years of investigation on the subject. Unlike the works gathered on mediatization and platform, we understand and explain how the recommendations and information available are, in addition to automatisms and practicalities, constant acts of manipulation on the platform, semiotic assemblages and intensities of significance in addition to a succinctly cultural phenomenon. In this sense, we used Verón's (1989) ethnographic, stratification and topographic methodology, including interviews with consumers, while analyzing, under the mediatization spectrum, the way in which circulation occurs in its mesoanalysis meanders (FERREIRA, 2022). With this panorama of studies, we were able to understand the agency capabilities (DELEUZE and GUATTARI, 2016) of the platform, its construction and constant manipulation in the act of suggestion and interference. The established visibility agency, the suggestive environment and the sensitive strategies (SODRÉ, 2006) conditioned by financial capitalism were the main problematizations that synthesize the tactics of normalization of the platform's interests, using cultural algorithms (FERREIRA, 2021) and impulses of the culture, before being a sociability created for the user. This happens by using the bonds and relationships that affection provides and, therefore, when investigating emotions, we understand that there are limits and impasses when this occurs, mainly due to the lack of understanding of the personal and collective meanings that occur. The decipherings arose from the retrieval of gathered data, interviews and deductive and inductive inferences that the research provided us during this Master's study, aiming to add to the ethical communicational studies of the practical panoramas of the contemporary world from a mediatization look.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11763</link>
Jair Bolsonaro was elected the thirty-eighth president of the Republic in&#13;
October 2018. A controversial figure, he gained popularity for his anti-PT and populist&#13;
speeches, attracting millions of loyal voters willing to defend him and support his&#13;
decisions unconditionally. In 2020, the highly contagious and possibly lethal new&#13;
coronavirus broke out, leading WHO to declare a new pandemic in March of the&#13;
same year. Jair Bolsonaro took different measures from those recommended by&#13;
health specialties, leading Brazil to reach the mark of more than 650,000 deaths by&#13;
the time of the publication of this research. The present research aims to collect&#13;
clues to the construction of bolsonarism as an identity through interactions made in&#13;
posts about covid-19 made by news pages on Facebook and to understand its&#13;
relationship with the highlighted events. Through a cartography carried out on the&#13;
social platform, 38 publications and 1224 interactions were collected to build a map&#13;
of meanings to understand aspects of bolsonarism. After the analysis, I observed that&#13;
the identity of the political group does not only have the image of Jair Bolsonaro as a&#13;
central figure, but creates its own identifications from its opponents, understood as&#13;
enemies. Among them are Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, PT, Rede Globo and Brazilian&#13;
Federal Court of Justice.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11760</link>
Moraes, Clara Meira
This research seeks to analyze the constructs of female (dis)empowerment in audiovisual media through the character of Daenerys Targaryen, from Game of Thrones (2011 – 2019). Other characters that belong to an expanded corpus are also evoked. The main objective of this work is to comprehend the ways in which (dis)empowerment is constructed and, specifically, to look at its technical, esthetic, and narrative resources. Thus, it would be possible to apprehend how power, or the loss of it, is produced in the characters’ stories as a technocultural construct. The theoretical discourse contextualizes the term (dis)empowerment through a feminist approach. Afterwards, it gives an overview on the relations of power interwoven in society and how gender and female representation in audiovisual media are affected by it. Lastly, it discusses the memorial and technocultural layers in the images, in which lasting significations that are constantly updating themselves are inscribed. The methodology is of memorial character, where the researcher inserts herself as the subject that perceives the constructs in order to find significations. The movements used, which make up the methodological frame, are cartography, the wandering of the flânerie, the creation of thematic collections, and dissection, which resulted in three constellations titled The powerful woman, The incapable woman, and The discarded woman. Thus, from the tension between the empirical object, the methodological movements, and the theoretical framework, this work seeks to present the different ways in which female (dis)empowerment is portrayed in the images, considering that the lasting and updating aspects found in them come from the contact between technology/technique and culture.
