<title>A qualidade da relação líder-membro e a saúde mental de trabalhadores do Rio Grande do Sul</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/14012</link>
<description>A qualidade da relação líder-membro e a saúde mental de trabalhadores do Rio Grande do Sul
Lanzarin, Bruna Santini
Within organizations, workers develop interpersonal relationships, especially the leadermember relationship, in which the leader directs and influences the work of his&#13;
subordinate. This relationship can affect the worker's mental health, producing positive&#13;
or negative effects for them. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate the&#13;
association between the quality of the leader-member relationship and the health and&#13;
mental illness of workers in Rio Grande do Sul. It will be a quantitative study, with a&#13;
cross-sectional approach and a descriptive correlational design. A sample of 404&#13;
workers from the state of Rio Grande do Sul is estimated, led for at least 6 months by&#13;
the same leader. The following instruments will be used for data collection: 1)&#13;
Sociodemographic Data Sheet; 2) Multidimensional Leader-Member Exchange; 3)&#13;
Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21); and 4) Continuum Mental Health&#13;
Scale. For data analysis, reliability assessments of the instruments, descriptive analyses,&#13;
Person or Speman correlations and multiple regression analyzes will be carried out. It is&#13;
hoped, through this study, to expand knowledge about the leader-member relationship&#13;
and its effects on workers' mental health, in order to help guide the work of&#13;
professionals who work in institutional contexts.

<title>Adaptação e evidências de validade do questionário Children’s Social Behavior Questionnaire - CSBQ</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13843</link>
<description>Adaptação e evidências de validade do questionário Children’s Social Behavior Questionnaire - CSBQ
Ferreira, Luiza Mattos
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, whose core symptoms are characterized by changes in social interactions and communication, restricted interests and repetitive behaviors. Despite the high prevalence of this disorder, there is still a lack of instruments available in Brazil, particularly for mild cases, implying a delay in diagnosis. The present dissertation has two studies with the objective of adapting and obtaining evidence of validity of the Children's Social Behavior Questionnaire (CSBQ) instrument for use in the Brazilian context. In Study I, the process of adapting the instrument is described, with stages of translation, back-translation, assessment of the pertinence and clarity of the items by expert judges and the target audience (family members of children and adolescents). In Study II, two collections were carried out, one through an online survey and the other with 20 relatives of children with a clinical diagnosis of ASD, obtaining evidence of instrument validity data through clinical criteria and convergence with other instruments. The internal consistency of the general scale and the factors assessed by the questionnaire were analyzed. Finally, it is expected that the adapted version and evidence of validity of the Brazilian version of the CSBQ instrument can help identify ASD symptoms in individuals at different levels of the disorder, facilitating access to their treatment.

<title>Suporte social e saúde mental em pessoas privadas de liberdade</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13780</link>
<description>Suporte social e saúde mental em pessoas privadas de liberdade
Georg, Pâmela
People deprived of liberty face challenging conditions, such as overcrowding and&#13;
limited access to fundamental rights provided for in criminal legislation, but not always&#13;
guaranteed by structural barriers and social stigmas. Social support is essential&#13;
throughout the prison cycle, functioning as a bridge between the prison environment&#13;
and the outside world, promoting balance and mental health. Family visits stand out as&#13;
the main support mechanism. The dissertation covers two studies on social support in&#13;
the prison context. The first, qualitative, interviewed five men deprived of their liberty,&#13;
exploring their perceptions about the support they received. The categorical analysis&#13;
identified three main axes — family, friends and significant others — highlighting the&#13;
role of visits, emotional support and the fear of being forgotten. Exchanging letters also&#13;
emerged as a form of support in the context of friendships. The second study,&#13;
quantitative and descriptive, analyzed 64 participants, comparing the levels of mental&#13;
suffering (depression, stress and anxiety) between those who received visitors and those&#13;
who did not. The results showed a weak relationship between social support and mental&#13;
suffering, but revealed that inmates who received visits perceived a greater support&#13;
network. The findings reinforce the importance of policies that encourage visits and&#13;
positive contacts, aiming for well-being and social reintegration.

<title>Relações entre memória episódica, sintomas depressivos e pensamento negativo repetitivo (PNR) em idosos</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13484</link>
<description>Relações entre memória episódica, sintomas depressivos e pensamento negativo repetitivo (PNR) em idosos
Fraga, Valéria Figueiredo
Population aging is an essential theme to explore in current studies, considering the&#13;
significant changes we are facing in the global population profile. Additionally, depressive disorders are common among the elderly population. The manifestation of depressive symptoms in the elderly is more heterogeneous and less stereotyped than in younger populations, which can make it more challenging to systematize for professionals treating these patients. Nowadays, there is a concern with understanding the transdiagnostic factors associated with depression, and recent investigations suggest that repetitive negative thinking (RNT) is among these transdiagnostic factors for depression. Therefore, the objective of this dissertation was to assess the relationship between depressive symptoms and elderly individuals' performance in episodic memory tests, as well as to evaluate the associations between subjective cognitive complaints, selfreported depressive symptoms, repetitive negative thinking, and effective performance in episodic memory tasks. To achieve the dissertation's objective, two studies were conducted. Both studies are cross-sectional and quantitative. Data collected through standardized instruments were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS version 25, with the sample consisting of elderly individuals from Rio Grande do Sul. As for each of the studies, in the first study we have the Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination, the Geriatric Depression Scale, the Free and Cued Selective Test with Immediate Recall, the WAIS-III Scale Digit Test, the Psychological Battery for Attention Assessment and Verbal Fluency Test. The results revealed that depression has a negative, weak to moderate, correlation with free recall from memory, attention and verbal fluency. In the second study, the Perseverative Thinking Questionnaire, the Geriatric Depression Scale, the Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test with Immediate Recall and the Cognitive Function Instrument were used. The results show that Repetitive Negative Thinking has a direct effect on depression, in which turn is associated with an increased perception of cognitive decline. Suggest a possible mechanism by which Repetitive Negative Thinking negatively affect depressive symptoms and increase a perception of cognitive decline.

<title>Síndrome de Burnout e aspectos sociodemográficos, ocupacionais e psicossociais em advogados</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13481</link>
<description>Síndrome de Burnout e aspectos sociodemográficos, ocupacionais e psicossociais em advogados
Vitola, Marília Santos
This research aimed to investigate the association between sociodemographic aspects,&#13;
occupational stressors, psychosocial aspects, work-family interaction and Burnout Syndrome in male and female lawyers, in two studies. The first study evaluated the predictive role of sociodemographic aspects, work characteristics and occupational&#13;
stressors in the occurrence of Burnout Syndrome. It was observed that 58.3% of the&#13;
participants are affected by Burnout Syndrome. Linear regression analysis showed models capable of explaining each of the dimensions of Burnout. The dimension “work&#13;
illusion” showed job satisfaction as its main predictor. Work-family interference proved&#13;
to be the predictor with the greatest explanatory contribution to the dimension “psychological exhaustion”. In the dimensions “indolence” and “guilt”, the main&#13;
predictors identified were the stressors “work environment” and “self-responsibility for&#13;
negative outcomes”, respectively. The second study identified differences between male&#13;
and female lawyers in the dimensions of Burnout Syndrome, work-family interaction and&#13;
occupational stressors related to law. The results show that female lawyers have higher&#13;
scores in the dimensions of work/family conflict and family/work, as well as in occupational stressors related to expressions of violence, such as “bullying/harassment”, “silencing” and “rejection/exclusion”, indicating that law is experienced differently according to the gender of the professional. This dissertation contributes to the advancement of knowledge regarding the risk factors for the development of Burnout Syndrome in lawyers, as well as identifies gender as an element that can qualify the exposure to occupational stressors among women.

<description>Saúde mental: experiências de estudantes universitários na graduação em psicologia
Silva, Kaell Judá Sesterheim da
It is known that the experience during the undergraduate journey results in various changes in individuals' lives, ranging from academic aspects to cognitive, behavioral, and&#13;
emotional factors. The aim of this dissertation is to understand the experiences of&#13;
psychology students during their undergraduate studies and how these experiences relate&#13;
to mental health. This study adopts a qualitative, cross-sectional, exploratory approach&#13;
using the Multiple Case Study method. Three psychology students, positioned between&#13;
the seventh and eighth semesters of their course, with an average age of 24 years, were&#13;
interviewed in person. The research instruments comprised: 1) Sociodemographic Data&#13;
Sheet, 2) Interactive Narrative, and 3) Supplementary Interview. Data were analyzed&#13;
through thematic analysis. Results indicate that multiple tasks, overload, (self)medication, high performance and demands, interpersonal relationships, support networks, social support, and satisfaction with the choice of course were the most commonly recounted experiences. Revealed a posteriori three categories: 1) 'From choice to sustaining the choice'; 2) 'The psychology course and psychic implications'; 3) 'Teaching hinders learning'. It is concluded that experiences during the undergraduate psychology course are diverse, impacting mental health by fostering protective factors while potentially exacerbating aspects of psychological distress.

<title>Entre livros e lutas: saúde mental e comportamentos de risco durante a jornada universitária</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12955</link>
<description>Entre livros e lutas: saúde mental e comportamentos de risco durante a jornada universitária
Beneton, Emanueli Ribeiro
This research investigated psychological distress, the influence of family and university&#13;
and the use of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana by the university population in two studies.&#13;
In Study I, it was observed that the group that uses alcohol, tobacco and cannabis, when&#13;
compared to the group that does not, showed a significant difference in terms of levels of&#13;
symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. A binary regression analysis showed that the&#13;
use of psychiatric medication and high levels of stress predicted substance use. When&#13;
analyzing the characteristics of the group of users, it was observed that there was no&#13;
significant association between using alcohol and having symptoms of depression,&#13;
anxiety and stress; however, the use of tobacco and marijuana showed a significant&#13;
association with the development of symptoms of anxiety and depression, and the use of&#13;
marijuana showed a significant association with stress. In order to better understand some&#13;
of the quantitative data obtained in Study I, a second qualitative study was carried out.&#13;
Study II explored the influence of family and university on the development and maintenance of psychological distress and the use of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana by&#13;
university students. It was observed that the use of substances and the development of&#13;
symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress occurs before entering university, but that&#13;
when starting academic life there is an increase in both substance use and symptoms. This dissertation corroborates findings in the literature that more and more young people are experiencing early psychological distress and have been using harmful strategies, such as substance use, which were introduced to them in the family context, as a way of soothing their emotions and feelings. In addition, it points out that it is extremely important to think about and develop strategies and interventions that help maintain and promote the mental health of university students, in order to make academia a safe and welcoming space, where they can find a support network whenever necessary, which does not potentiate the emotional symptoms and unhealthy behaviors that already exist, but which promotes a healthy learning environment, helping university students to develop their potential both academically and personally.

<description>Adaptação e evidências de validade de dois instrumentos baseados na Terapia de aceitação e compromisso : o Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire (CPAQ) e o Commitment Action Questionnaire (CAQ)
Peloso, Franciele Cristiane
The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model is known as psychological flexibility and has been explored for different clinical conditions. In Brazil, there are still few materials and instruments based on ACT. The aim of this dissertation was to adapt for the Brazilian population, examine the reliability and explore evidence of validity of two instruments based on the ACT theory, the Commitment Action Questionnaire (CAQ) and the Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire (CPAQ) in their original and brief versions. This is a psychometric study with 292 participants. The collection took place online through Microsoft Forms. Data were handled using SPSS 22 and JASP 17 using Chronbach's Alpha, Omega Mcdonald’s, Spearman's correlation analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Multigroup Factor Analysis, Mann-Whitney U test. Both the CAQ-Br and the CPAQ-Br in both versions were adapted and obtained adequate reliability for application in the Brazilian context. The CAQ is an instrument that can help in clinical psychology as it is connected to the ACT values process. The CPAQ, on the other hand, contributed to measuring the result and process in the development of acceptance of chronic pain.

<title>Estratégias de coping e sintomas emocionais, após um desastre aéreo</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12260</link>
<description>Estratégias de coping e sintomas emocionais, após um desastre aéreo
Lenhardt, Gabriela
Disasters are considered sudden and catastrophic events that impact directly and&#13;
indirectly exposed victims. Despite this, some subjects do not adapt to the new reality and&#13;
can trigger emotional symptoms corresponding to the post-traumatic stress disorder&#13;
(PTSD), depression, anxiety and stress. To deal with the situation, people use coping&#13;
strategies, considered as cognitive and behavioral resources. However, it is understood&#13;
that coping strategies and sociodemographic variables are configured as moderators of&#13;
psychological responses. To increase this knowledge, two quantitative articles were&#13;
carried out. The first one verified a predictive relationship of the sociodemographic&#13;
characteristics on the emotional symptoms corresponding to the post-traumatic stress&#13;
disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety and stress. The second evaluated the predictive&#13;
relationship between coping strategies and emotional symptoms. The sample was&#13;
composed of 194 victims, involved in the aerial disaster with the Chapecoense Football&#13;
Association. The instruments used were: Sociodemographic Data Questionnaire, Coping&#13;
Strategies Inventory, Stress Scale Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression&#13;
Anxiety and Stress Scale. Overall, the results indicated that most participants did not&#13;
present PTSD symptoms and exhibited normal symptoms of depression, anxiety, and&#13;
stress. It was also identified that the individual variables - female sex and direct relation&#13;
with the tragedy - added the odds ratios in developing psychological problems. In&#13;
addition, the coping strategies, especially those focused on emotion, presented a&#13;
predictive relationship with the evaluated symptoms. The studies allowed important&#13;
reflections on personal factors and coping resources, since these aspects may contribute&#13;
to or hinder the coping process. Information is expected to improve psychotherapeutic&#13;
interventions, providing better recovery during and after trauma of people exposed to&#13;
similar situations.

<description>Psicoterapia psicanalítica na adolescência: considerações sobre processo e mudança terapêutica e um estudo de caso
Urruth, Rodolfo de Siqueira
This Master thesis aimed the study of process and therapeutic change in adolescence, through the theoretical understanding of psychoanalytic works on the subject, as well as, conducting a case study. It was developed a qualitative research and from the sessions of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and the analysis of the Core Conflictual Relationship Theme (Luborsky &amp; Barret, 2007), we performed a dynamic understanding of a clinical case study. The obtained results allowed us to identify changes at a behavioral level and in the relational patterns of the adolescent. It is expected through this work to emphasize the need for theoretical improvement relating to the study of therapeutic process and change in adolescence.

<title>Anorexia e redes sociais: uma análise da comunidade ProAna na perspectiva psicanalítica</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11818</link>
<description>Anorexia e redes sociais: uma análise da comunidade ProAna na perspectiva psicanalítica
Rodrigues, Suzana Viola
The scientific literature on anorexia has considered this eating disturbance as a severe and complex disease. In global ambit, the internet contains sites that propagate and encourage anorexic behavior. This dissertation presents two studies. The first one is a theoretical study which approached the narcissist dimension of anorexia from the point of view of psychoanalysis, and examined the role of the virtual world in this context. The second one is an empirical study with the objective of analyzing manifestations and interactions of the participants of a virtual community who identify themselves as anorexic. The referred community is called ProAna. The method adopted for the research was observational and exploratory and the procedure used was a documental analysis. The data analysis enabled the identification of the following themes: i) ambivalent and narcissist characteristics of the relationship with the mother; ii) the body as the locus of expression of conflict; iii) emotional crutch; iv) awareness of the disease. In the last two mentioned themes, it was possible to recognize some particular categories. Regarding the “emotional crutch” issue, it was observed that anorexia is a way of dealing with difficulties and emotional problems; it makes possible a sense of control and self-efficacy, and to obtain some secondary gains. Concerning the “awareness of the disease”, two categories were identified: one that emphasizes the negative aspects of anorexia, denying the affirmation that it brings benefits, and another that highlights a self-destructive tendency, and manifests pulsation to death. The study made it possible to reveal how crucial issues related to anorexia were expressed in the discussion forum under scrutiny. It is emphasized that anorexia is a complex disorder demanding multi- professional care; it is relevant to articulate studies among the health areas in order to aggregate their efforts to reduce the disorder morbidity and mortality rates. The study of a virtual community such as ProAna may contribute to expand the knowledge about anorexic people and may also supply relevant data to the formulation of a public health policy for the treatment of this population.

<title>Expressão de pistas e preocupações emocionais de pacientes com câncer em consultas médicas: um estudo sobre comunicação em oncologia</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/10927</link>
<description>Expressão de pistas e preocupações emocionais de pacientes com câncer em consultas médicas: um estudo sobre comunicação em oncologia
Romeiro, Fernanda Bittencourt
This dissertation is composed by two empiric articles from a research project, which assesses the physician-patient communication through patients’ cues and concerns and physicians’ responses to these emotional expressions during oncological consultations. In the first article, it was used the VR-CoDES (Verona Coding Definitions of Emotional Sequences) to describe both emotional cues/concerns expressed by patients during their oncological treatment and physicians’ responses toward such emotional expressions, from video recorded consultations. In the second article, the relation between patients’ emotional cues and concerns, physicians’ responses, socio-demographic and clinical variables, satisfaction and physician-patient communication was examined. First article design was mixed, descriptive and exploratory. Second article design was correlational. The participants were 12 patients with mean age of 63.25 years (SD = 15.70 years), eight women and four men, which were under cancer treatment for a mean period of 28.42 months (SD = 38.59 months), eight oncologists that attended the patients during their treatment. The instruments were questionnaires for socio-demographic data (professional and clinical); VR-CoDES (Verona Coding Definitions of Emotional Sequences); Satisfaction Inventory (translated and adapted from the PSIAQ - Patient Satisfaction with the Interview Assessment Questionnaire); and CAT – Communication Assessment Tool. In article 1, the results revealed that patients expressed 349 cues/concerns in 12 consultations. In response to the cue/concerns, 394 interventions of the physicians' answers were identified, being the most used were explicit (F = 135; 34.3%) and non-explicit (F = 111; 28.2%) responses both with reduce function. The cue most used by the patients referred to physiological concerns related to the disease and to the treatment. The results of article II indicated that explicit and reduce space responses were positively related to expressions of potentially stressful experiences for the patients, and content repetition at the patient's own initiative. The cue expressed through physiological symptoms was related to the physician's responses with proveder space only to the content. Patients expressed less nonverbal behaviors (eg crying, silence, or pauses in speech) as they were treated longer and more empathic responses were provided to these patients. There was no relation of cues patients' concerns and answers of the doctors with the satisfaction and evaluation of the communication. It is suggested that physicians be trained in communication skills in order to promote the recognition of patients' emotions and to provide emotional support in the context of oncology.

<description>Função reflexiva paterna no contexto de interação pai-bebê
Trage, Fernanda Torzeczki
The social changes that led to a reorganization of the family dynamics and, in turn, influenced the role of the man in the conjugal relationship and in the involvement with the routine of care of the children oriented the general objective of this research, which consists in understanding the exercise of the paternity in contemporary families, evaluating the paternal Reflexive Function in the context of father-baby interaction. An exploratory-descriptive method was used, with a qualitative approach, and the research instruments used were the Screening Sheet, the Sociodemographic Data Sheet, the FRQ - Reflective Functioning Questionnaire 54 - Portuguese version and the Semistructured Interview, which integrate closed and open questions. They were applied to three parents, for convenience, in view of the inclusion and exclusion criteria determined for this research. As main results, it was identified that there are typical characteristics of the contemporary father, designated as a "new father", which aims to establish a more affectionate relationship with the child, compared to that of his creation. It is recognized by the parents interviewed the need for a more effective action in the care with the child and, in this sense, a review of values and sexist thoughts that can prevent their full participation in the life of the baby. An effort was made by parents analyzed to identify the needs of their children, seeking to establish a connection that privileges not only daily issues but also aspects related to the emotional stimuli of the child.

<title>Sexo e sexualidade na adolescência: análise do acesso à informação e exposição a riscos</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/10351</link>
<description>Sexo e sexualidade na adolescência: análise do acesso à informação e exposição a riscos
Furlanetto, Milene Fontana
The advancement of research on sex and sexuality among adolescents has evidenced the vulnerability of this public to health risk behaviors. It is known that the experience of sexuality is intertwined with a set of individual and contextual factors, but greater emphasis is still given to issues related to the adolescent himself. Thus, it is important to understand the risk and protection factors related to sexual initiation in adolescence, integrating the main systems in which young people are inserted, such as family and school. With this research focus, two studies were developed, based on data from 253 adolescents from the 6th to the 9th year of primary education at two schools in São Leopoldo and four from Porto Alegre, who answered a Questionnaire on Socio-demographic Data and Sexual Behaviors, Family Support Perception Inventory (IPSF) and also participated in focus groups (n = 24). The first study, entitled "Individual and contextual factors associated with sexual initiation among adolescents", with an analytical observational design, sought to investigate the association between sexual initiation in adolescence and individual factors (sex, age, schooling, history of school failure, religion and use of legal and illicit drugs) and contextual (family configuration, family support, socioeconomic level of the family, parental schooling and access to information about sex and sexuality). In addition, among adolescents who had already had sex, we sought to examine the association between individual and contextual factors with early sexual initiation (prior to age 15) and inconsistent use of condoms. Descriptive statistical analyzes and inferences indicated that the first sexual experiences of the young have occurred along with other behaviors detrimental to their development, mainly referring to the use of alcohol and low school performance. These factors also seem to be related to the levels of autonomy and affectivity that adolescents perceive from their families, since higher levels of affective-consistent perception have shown to be a protective factor and greater autonomy as a factor of sexual risk. The second study, with a sequential explanatory design, called "Access and quality of information received on sex and sexuality in the adolescent perspective", aimed to deepen the understanding about access and quality of information about sex and sexuality in family and school contexts in the perspective of adolescents. The data were analyzed statistically and by thematic analysis, highlighting two themes: sources and limits of access to information about sex and sexuality and communication bias. The results indicated that adolescents have been exposed to sexual risks, especially due to inconsistent condom use, even if they report access to preventive information. The family environment was identified as the main reference context for sex education, however, adolescents indicated that they would like to expand educational activities related to this topic in school. Also, reports of sexist and homophobic attitudes were highlighted in the contexts investigated. Together, the data denounces the need for greater attention to adolescent sexual education, not only in the preventive scope, but also through dialogues that include the diversity of themes and experiences in the sexual sphere, as well as the relevance of including social contexts in the analysis of sexual risk behaviors in adolescence.

Different parental characteristics can be inferred in the education skills in relation to their children, as well as their deeper schemes of interpretation on practices of educating. In this regard, this thesis is comprised of two empirical studies on the Early Maladaptive Schemas (EMS) and Parental Social Educational Skills (P-SES). The participants were 154 parents (46 fathers and 108 mothers) living in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre, Brazil. A questionnaire of sociodemographic data, the Jeffrey Young Schema Inventory and the Social Educational Skills Inventory for parents of Del Prette and Del Prette were utilized in both studies. The first article aimed at describing and identifying associations between the domains of EMS and P-SES. Results indicated that some EMS correlated with P-SES (affection and attention, inducing disciplines and organizing educational conditions). The second study aimed to compare EMS and P-SES between mothers and fathers. Mothers presented more skills in communication and limits. In addition, they showed greater EMS activation than fathers, which can influence maternal skills in educating and stimulating children. This outcomes can promote reflections in the clinical context of parental training interventions, which aim to lower EMS parental activation as a prevention of educational stimuli in children.

<description>Parentalidade em casais homossexuais
Araldi, Marina Ortolan
This research is based on the perception that families formed by same-sex couples are increasingly more common in modern society, but still a less studied minority. This is a master degree dissertation that is organized in two papers. The first paper is a systematic review of the literature on same-sex parenting. The second paper is a qualitative study that aimed to investigate the process and the parenting of four same-sex couples. The results of both papers suggest that parental role are not rigid, and favor affection, respect and acceptance of differences in parent-child relationship and in childcare. Parenthood reveals maturity as a couple and implies coping with prejudices that are more easily overcome with social and family support.

<description>Relações entre regulação emocional, coparentalidade e sintomas emocionais e comportamentais em adolescentes
Machado, Mariana Rodrigues
The aim of this dissertation was to investigate a structural model between coparenting, emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents considering emotional regulation as a mediator. In addition to specify direct and indirect relationships between variables. A quantitative, cross-sectional and explanatory research was presented through two empirical studies. A total of 229 adolescents aged 11 to 18 years were evaluated. The collection was carried out in schools, and the participants answered a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Youth Self-Report (YSR), Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale - DERS, Coparenting Inventory for Parent and Adolescents – CI-PA and Antisocial Behavior Scale. In study 1 a structural model was proposed between coparenting and internalizing symptoms considering the mediation of emotional regulation. In study 2 we proposed a structural model of interaction between coparenting, emotional regulation and externalizing symptoms, we investigated the direct and indirect relationships existing in this model. The results indicated that regulation is an important mediator between coparenting and emotional and behavioral symptoms in adolescents. Moreover, the dissertation pointed out the importance of coparental triangulation as an important predictor of emotional regulation difficulties and consequently of internalizing and externalizing symptoms.

The present dissertation analyzes the difficulties faced by the mothers of autistic children, specifically the aspects related to anxiety, depression and stress in face of the impact of this diagnosis and the challenges that follow. The paper is composed of two articles, the first one is a review of the literature and the second is an empirical study with a qualitative approach. The first study aimed to understand the family difficulties with the child with ASD and to identify interventions that are offered to this population. The second study analyzed indicators of maternal anxiety, depression and stress and the impact of the diagnosis in the mothers of children with ASD. Four mothers with children with ASD between 3 and 6 years old, with diagnoses included as moderate and severe, participated in the study. The information was obtained by means of individual interview and application of questionnaires. These mothers belong to an institution that serves autistic children, in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, chosen for convenience. It is hoped that the results found may contribute to the care provided to these mothers.

The mother-infant interactions are relevant in psychoanalysis for influence in the formation of personality, when attending the baby potential and maternal mental conditions. Prematurity, with admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the mother generate feelings of failure and uncertainties affecting the construction of the primary bond. This study aimed to understand the repercussions of a psychotherapeutic intervention performed with double early mother-infant during admission to NICU, over reflective function and capacity of maternal mentalizing, and the mother-infant interaction. We conducted a qualitative research, intervention, exploratory and descriptive, through multiple case study with two stages: before and after the intervention. Attended two mothers and their premature babies admitted to the NICU of Maternal Child Hospital Presidente Vargas in Porto Alegre, RS. It was used before the intervention, the Socio-Demographic and Clinical Data Sheet, Interview Story of Mother Life and Free Interaction Filming Mother -Baby; and after, History Interview Admission and Free Interaction Filming Mother -Baby. The results showed changes in reflective function and the ability of maternal mentalizing, reflecting directly on the mother-infant interaction. It was concluded that the study helped to implement interventions that address the early relationships premature babies, mothers in the NICU.

<description>Violência conjugal: o impacto das experiências na família de origem e das características patológicas da personalidade
Madalena, Marcela Bianca de Andrade
Intimate partner violence is a heterogeneous phenomenon that is presented in the literature to occur so unidirectional and bidirectional between spouses. Several variables are associated with its occurrence, among them personal characteristics of those involved. The aim of this work was to investigate the role of experiences in family of origin and pathological characteristics of personality in the occurrence of intimate partner violence. Therefore, we conducted two studies: 1) A systematic literature review that investigated the personality disorders associated with intimate partner violence. In this review were consulted five databases, restricting the years 2009 to 2014. The results showed Borderline and Antisocial personality disorder as the most frequent, although when investigated other personality disorders also indicated association. We also observed that most studies investigated sample of male perpetrators, but when investigated sample of couples, identified dyadic aspects impacting intimate partner violence. 2) The second article was an empirical study, quantitative, explanatory that investigated the predictive power of the experiences in family of origin and pathological characteristics of personality to intimate partner violence. The sample consisted of 170 heterosexual couples in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. Participants responded to the following instruments: Dimensional Clinical Personality Inventory (IDCP), Family Background Questionnaire (FBQ) and the Revised Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS2). Multiple linear regression analysis was performed by the stepwise method. Violence committed and suffered by women was best explained by pathological characteristics of personality, while the violence committed and suffered by men was best explained by experiences in the family of origin. With regard to pathological characteristics of personality, instability of humor for women and aggressiveness for men were the ones that explained the violence committed. These characteristics are similar to the Borderline and Antisocial personality disorder traits. Only the individual characteristics were associated with intimate partner violence, no partner characteristic correlated.

The present study aims to understand how the mentalizing of women who have experienced traumas in childhood when they are in maternity, since the impact of initial relationships on the flow of a child's emotional development is known. Considering the repercussions of these experiences on the individual's life, the aim was to evaluate the capacity of mentalization of women who have experienced traumas in childhood and who are mothers of children up to one year of age, describing their life histories and understanding how they establish the interpersonal relationships and with the baby. Thus, two empirical articles, descriptive, with a qualitative approach were constructed and as a procedure a Multiple Case Study was adopted. Three primiparous women, aged between 28 and 35 years old and with children up to 12 months of age, who had necessarily had a traumatic situation in their infancy, participated. Data were collected through the following instruments: Sociodemographic data sheet; Questionnaire on Trauma in Childhood (QUESI); Rorschach Method; Interview on Life History and Current Relationships; Interview on Motherhood and the mother-child relationship. The cases were individually constructed and then the Synthesis of the Crossed Cases was carried out, trying to understand the similarities and divergences between the cases. The main results indicate that, despite the traumas experienced, the mothers demonstrate adequate capacity for mentalization, but pointing to greater impairment in the evaluation of their values and general attitudes. However, they show significant deficiencies in interpersonal relationships, which also seem to have repercussions on the relationship with the baby.

<description>Satisfação sexual e qualidade de vida em homens jovens
Salton, Magdalena Zaffari
Human sexuality is constituted as a historical, cultural and social construction, which can cover different needs of a subject. Good expression is expressed in values and behaviors, depends on the overall health of the subject and is often related to the concept of quality of life. Failures relate to what interferes with the quality of normal sexual functioning. The present dissertation is composed of two studies. The first study, titled "Sexual satisfaction, quality of life and associated aspects in adult men", aimed to evaluate the relationship between sexual satisfaction, quality of life and associated sociodemographic aspects in men. A quantitative and exploratory study was carried out with 195 Brazilian men, over 18 years of age, who had sexual intercourse. Participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire that supplemented the information obtained in the WHOQOL-Bref and Sexual Quotient instruments. The data were analyzed with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 22.0 for Windows. The results of the analyzes indicated that low scores on sexual satisfaction and on the psychological domain of the WHOQOL-Bref, can answer for high scores on the sexual problem scores in the relationship. Regarding the domains, high scores on premature ejaculation were explained by low scores on sexual satisfaction. It was also identified that low scores on the independent variables sexual satisfaction, categorized sexual quotient and psychological domain of the WHOQOL-Bref, responded by high scores on sexual problems in the relationship. It was also identified that high ages and low scores on sexual satisfaction, responded by high scores in the sexual infrequency. It is hoped that this study can contribute to science through the construction of knowledge, discussions and interventive practices on the subject, regarding the global health of man.

<title>Desenvolvimento e avaliação de uma intervenção no sistema familiar de adolescentes com baixo desempenho escolar</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/10342</link>
<description>Desenvolvimento e avaliação de uma intervenção no sistema familiar de adolescentes com baixo desempenho escolar
Silva, Magda Pozzobon
Considering the influence of family interactions in school performance, this dissertation sought to develop and evaluate a multifamily intervention involving families and teenage students with a history of low academic performance in two public elementary schools in the network of São Leopoldo/RS. Two studies were derived: the first is an experience report about the intervention carried out in six meetings, which had a duration of 90 minutes, with activities that aimed at increasing communication, affective interaction and autonomy in the members of the system. The use of expressive resources as mediation tools promoted a playful, relaxed environment and complicity, which facilitated the expression of emotions, inciting the insight and leading to changes in the family system. The second study was empirical, of mixed approach with pre-experimental design with pre and post-test with this group, and evaluated the results of the proposed actions in relation to the family support and academic achievement. The qualitative content analysis pointed to improved dialogue between parents and children, greater family union and development of behaviors related to schedules, rules and limits, praise, autonomy and commitment with studying. The school grades were improved and all students were approved. Together, the data shows the importance of family systems intervention to help parents understand the importance of their participation in the teaching-learning process of children and to promote closer ties between the family and school system, in the pursuit of building spaces for reflection on educational practices in both contexts.

<description>Efeitos do Coaching Cognitivo-Comportamental na transição universidade-trabalho: intervenção de carreira em grupo
Gottschalk, Luciane Leila Linden
On the eve of graduation, university students live the university-work transition, with difficulties on making decisions, thus suggesting interventions that promote the career adaptability indicated at this stage. The first article verified the effects of the Cognitive-Behavioral Coaching (CBC) intervention under the dimensions of career development in a quasi-experimental study of repeated measures. A total participated 116 university students of private Higher Education Institution in Rio Grande do Sul, using the Sociodemographic Questionnaire and Career Development Scales for University Students (EDCU), Depression, Stress and Anxiety Scale (DASS-21) and Reduced Markers for Personality Assessment in the Five Large Factor Model (MR-25). After the intervention, the effects were: increased exploitation, career identity and career decision, locus of professional control and self-efficacy, with reduction of depression. The opening characteristic was presented as a differential of the participants who attended after two months of the conclusion of the intervention (follow up), and all dimensions remained without significant difference except for the self-efficacy that continued to increase in the follow up. The second article aimed to detail the protocol used in the respective program, through an intervention report. It was concluded that the effects of the CBC intervention were positive and studies that replicate the intervention are suggested.

<title>Manejo dos recursos tecnológicos de informação e comunicação em psicoterapia psicodinâmica presencial</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/10338</link>
<description>Manejo dos recursos tecnológicos de informação e comunicação em psicoterapia psicodinâmica presencial
Feijó, Luan Paris
Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are becoming more and more present in the life of the Brazilian population. Due to the expansion of the Internet and its daily use, ICT has influenced interpersonal relationships, as well as the different contexts of social interaction, among them, the clinics that offer psychotherapy service face-to-face. Thus, the use of these technologies can impact psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic technique, especially in the management of professionals, due to the use of these technologies in the professional training and in the technical concepts of the psychodynamic approach. Therefore, to understand how professionals use and manage ICT in clinical practice with their patients, two empirical studies, qualitative and cross-sectional, were carried out with eleven psychologists who had a specialization in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The data were analyzed by means of realistic thematic analysis, generating three topics of discussion. The results showed that in the use of information and communication technologies, the same technical characteristics of transference and therapeutic alliance of a face - to - face session are maintained, however with adaptations in neutrality, setting and the inclusion of technology as a parameter to technique. It was also pointed out that professionals need professional improvement in the management of technologies, through theoretical and technical instrumentalist, as well as the need to establish discussions and orientations of training institutions and the Psychology Council. The results of this research contribute to the professional improvement, as well as broaden the studies in this subject, especially in psychoanalytic theory.

<description>Intervenções do terapeuta psicanalítico: um estudo do processo de psicoterapia de uma paciente diagnosticada com transtorno de personalidade Borderline
Simoni, Liliam
This study turns the research of therapeutic action in the psychoanalytic model of psychotherapy directed to critical patients, specifically considering the therapist's contribution in the process. Contemporary views show that therapist is an active participant in the therapeutic relationship with a big impact in the results of the treatments. However, few studies direct their inquiries to the variables of the therapists, especially the characteristics of interventions throughout the psychotherapeutic process. Thus, this dissertation aims to investigate the interventions of a psychoanalytic therapist during the psychotherapy process of a patient diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. This systematic case study was based on analysis of the psychotherapeutic process of a 18 years old woman. For data analysis, twelve psychotherapy sessions were analyzed and all interventions of the therapist were classified by Modified Multidimensional Psychotherapeutic Interventions Classification (CMIP-M). Doubles independent and trained judges in the instrument methodology classified each of the interventions of the therapist in the descriptive level. The first study aimed to identify the proportion of each type of intervention used by the therapist during the investigation process and later in three stages of the treatment. It also investigated the proportion of common interventions and specific psychoanalytic interventions during treatment. The second study, by integrating the classification proposal of the CMIP-M and the notes of the sessions, aimed to identify the proportion of specific psychoanalytic interventions over the investigated sessions, focusing on the specific analysis of psychoanalytical explanatory interventions to investigate the use of these interventions in combination with other types of interventions and explore what steps the treatment they happened. Finally, it sought to integrate the understanding of the use of explanatory interventions with the therapeutic process. This research points the need of more studies about work with critical patients in order to investigate the intervention strategies adopted by therapists and improve the use of psychoanalytic technique.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of an online computerized system. The expansion of career counseling over the internet has existed in Europe and in the United States of America since the 1960s and aims to provide computer-based vocational guidance services, similar to those provided by counselors. Therefore, it was sought to evaluate vocational indecision, self efficacy, career maturity and anxiety regarding career choice, utilizing the career construction theory. Participated 38 high school seniors from public and private schools, of both genders, aged 16 to 18 years from the rio dos sinos valley region. The pre-and post-test, also performed online, had the following tools: vocacional indecision scale, career decision- making self efficacy scale, career choice maturity scale, anxiety assessment, a family and clinical sociodemographic questionnaire. The intervention had 6 vocational orientation sessions. The results showed that when comparing the post-test intra and intergroup scores, there was a significant statistical difference in career maturity choice, self efficacy and vocational indecision. There was no change in anxiety. These results revealed the skill acquisition for career decision making in a mature way and the increased feeling in ability to make a career choice. Computer assisted career guidance systems contribuited to senior high school students career choice. The limitations of the study are discussed and further research with the online method of intervention is suggested.

In the face of changes in the marital relationship through history, the inauguration of the family, from the first born, these facts are affected by such changes, which can be communicated through somatic manifestations of the baby. It is noted that at the moment of the life cycle, family heritage that is transmitted by the families of origin, gains a lot of strength. Given the scarcity of studies on the early symptoms and jobs that encompass the vision of both parents for this moment of family life, it is necessary to understand this transition. Systemic theory will base this study, with the objective of this dissertation is to understand the relationship between marital, parenting and transgenerationality before psychofunctional baby symptom. We conducted two empirical articles, from qualitative research study of multiple cases of four heterosexual couples. Socio-Demographic Data Questionnaire and Clinical Family and questionnaire "Symptom checklist" were answered to identify criteria for inclusion in the study. After at least one parent realize psychofunctional symptom in your baby, the couple individually answered a semi-structured interview, in order to know, in depth, the participating couples. The second article also included the construction of the genogramby marital pair. It was observed that the marital entanglement is essential for marital and parental subsystem are satisfactory, which will be reflected in the parent-babies. Still, the couple's union strength helps in breaking the intergenerational legacy, which is transmitted by the families of origin. From this, the couple can receive his firstborn in a functional way, translating the failures appointed by little through your body, through the psycho functional symptom. To conclude, this dissertation constructed a guide for couples about to begin the transition to parenthood in order to contribute to this time of development, which deserves attention, given the importance of preventive interventions.

This dissertation aims to map and characterize the service network for conjugal violence in Vale do Paranhana (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) and become aware of practices performed by psychologists in these places. Three qualitative studies were executed. The research involved ten services, whose coordinators (or personnel indicated by them) answered a questionnaire and eight psychologists responded to a semi-structured interview. Data were submitted to content analysis. We identified that the service network in this region is composed by juridical services and devices of the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS), both operating to face and prevent injury. Psychologists perceive conjugal violence from a feminist approach and consider public policies insufficient to supply the demand. There is overlapping of roles and functions concerning the social assistant. We perceived that the most frequent intervention was referral to other services and that violence has been treated ultimately in crisis periods. We propose, drawing from the Bioecological Approach, to comprehend the inter-relations between practices and context. Reflections and actions drawing from Amplified Clinics are proposed to potentialize actions in different levels of attention.

Violent conjugal relationships may cause serious health problems to those who are involved, and spouses find it difficult to recognize violence, tending to remain in such relationships. Thus, in Section I, the objective was to measure levels of quality and violence of conjugal relationships, as well as the relation between these dimensions with sociodemographic characteristics of the sample and the predictive power of the different types of violence in the conjugal quality. The participants were 186 heterosexual couples, officially married or in common-law marriage. Analyses showed that scores in psychological violence were over 85% of the sample, however, 66.5% of the couples assessed conjugal quality between average and very good, and 33.5% between poor and very severe problems. There was a positive correlation between the variables quality and violence, and psychological aggression was the dimension with more predictive power to conjugal problems. In Section II, the objective was to investigate how spouses assessed their intimate relationships with the presence of violence, and which aspects led them to remain in such relationships. Multiple case studies (Yin, 2005) analyzed four couples who experienced psychological, physical, or sexual violence. Different reasons were recognized as triggers for conflict, such as children education, betrayal, alcoholism, and financial issues. In some cases, remaining in such relationships is justified by practicality, and in others, love is what keeps them together. All cases showed that, although they speak about violent episodes, couples do not recognize violence or minimize the seriousness of the problem. For couples who want to remain together, it is important to work with conflict resolution strategies that are different from violence, promoting more health among them.

<description>Fatores associados a traços psicopáticos em presidiários homicidas
Zancanaro, João Rodrigo
The crime of homicide has been growing all over the world, and to identify the reasons associated to it is fundamental to its prevention. The psychopathy is a personality disturbance which might bring serious psychological and social dimensions, maybe leading to a criminal and violent behavior, maybe, the homicide. The goal of this study was to investigate psychopathic traits in convict murders (now in closed conditions) at the pen of Passo Fundo and to examine the associated factors. The essay is organized in two empirical studies. The first one is based on a descriptive and exploratory method, in order to know the criminal, social and demographic profile and the history and its links to trauma in the childhood of the prisoners who have committed crime against life, comparing psychopaths and no psychopaths. The second one, is about the relation between childhood traumatic experiences and psychopathic traits of these prisoners. In both studies, the sample is 27 convicted murders. The data were collected using a social and demographic questionnaire; the prisoners’ reports; the Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R); the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) and the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (QUESI). The data were analyzed, in numbers, through a descriptive, transversal and correlative statistic and comparing averages and proportions. In a general view, the results show a great number of psychopaths among the interviewed and show, also, the relation between psychopathy and mother’s parental way in the childhood, mainly the maternal control. Although the sample size has made difficult the profile comparative analyses, the study shows some possible associations among social demographic variables and relatives which need a better investigation in the future.

<description>Narrativas infantis: avaliação das representações mentais e dos modelos internos de funcionamento em crianças vítimas e não vítimas de maus-tratos
Alvares, Joana
This study aimed to compare mental representations, internal working models in child victims and non-victims of ill-treatment, considering the representations of attachment and self in each group, as well as presenting the MSSB instrument as access resource to internal representations of children, analyzing their initial psychometric properties. With the internalization of early experiences and the link between child-caregiver, internal working models develop. These models can be understood as mental representation ability, which covers children's perceptions of the environment, themselves and others. Sample of ninety (90) children six (6) to ten (10) years (M=8.0, DP=1.8), 30 (thirty) accepted institutionally and victims of abuse and sixty (60) not victims. The instruments used were the SDQ and MSSB. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney test and ANOVA for comparison between groups were employed. Regarding the contents of the SDQ, the maltreated children had borderline ratings (n=14, 46.7%) and abnormal (n = 16, 53.3%), while non-maltreated were classified as normal (n=60, 100%). Mental representations of maltreated children showed perceptions and more negative slant narratives when compared to non-abused. Indicating that child victims of abuse are more likely to develop more negative internal working models than non-victims, as well as representations of attachment less sensitive to your needs (M=0.62, SD=1.16) and representations themselves negative or grandiose (M=0.29, SD=1.29). Please note that further studies are developed, as well as preventive actions to better assessment of such cases, in addition to presenting the MSSB as a useful resource and tool for clinical and scientific work.

<description>Representações sobre a maternidade e o bebê em gestantes por ovodoação
Schneider, Ivana Elia
The maternal representations during the pregnancy are fundamental for the preliminary interactions and the baby’s future psychic development. It deals with a range of expectations, fantasies, fears, perceptions about the pregnancy, herself as mother and their baby. Through the psychoanalytical referential, the objective was to investigate the maternal representations of pregnant by egg donation women about the maternity and the baby. A qualitative research of exploratory character was conducted, with a Multicase Study design. Three pregnant women with ages between 44 and 45 years participated, and a Social Demographic and Clinical Data Sheet, the IRMAG, the Interview on Assisted Reproduction and Field Notes were used as instruments. The results show that to gestate represent fertility restoration and her validity as a mother before the presence of the donor. It is concluded that the implications associated with the egg donation were presents in the representations about maternity, and that the representations about the baby are common to natural pregnancies, added with the perception of the donor’s genetics in different ways among the participants.

<title>Preconceito contra diversidade sexual e de gênero e prática clínica em psicologia</title>

<description>Preconceito contra diversidade sexual e de gênero e prática clínica em psicologia
Gaspodini, Icaro Bonamigo
The objective of this research was to investigate how psychologists’ beliefs and attitudes and the psychological knowledge are related to prejudice against sexual and gender diversity. The dissertation is composed of three studies. In Study I, a systematic literature review (2006-2016) showed that most Brazilian psychological studies on prejudice neglect sexual orientations different from homosexuality, as well as non-cisgender identities or expressions. In Study II, we investigated prejudice against sexual and gender diversity in 497 Brazilian psychologists from 22 out of 23 Regional Psychology Counsels. Participants showed low levels of prejudice, but we consider them worrisome because it was an extreme measure. When investigated in relation to personal beliefs about the nature of diversity, prejudice showed to be more associated with psychological explanations, such as perversion or unsatisfactory conflict resolution with parental figures. In Study III, we explored how sexual and diversity issues are experienced by 14 female psychologists from five cities in the southernmost state in Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). We found perceptions of not being prepared, presence of pathologizing knowledge in graduation, prejudicial beliefs and attitudes, use of inadequate language, and pathologizing clinical practices. This dissertation shows that, if psychologists conduct their clinical practice based on what they learned through graduation, together with their personal beliefs and attitudes, then the combination of pathologizing knowledge and prejudicial beliefs and attitudes may probably result in predicament to the health of the LGBT public. Although the manifestation of prejudice had been minored in all studies due to sample and study design characteristics, we find troublesome to have found prejudice in every psychological aspect we investigated: in literature, in education, in clinical practice, and in psychologists themselves.

<description>Prevenção e promoção da saúde no contexto organizacional: percepção da doença, estresse e bem-estar subjetivo de trabalhadores hipertensos e normotensos
Pires, Gerusa Estelita da Silva
This thesis is composed of two empirical articles, part of a research project regarding the illness perception, perceived stress and subjective well-being of hypertensive and normotensive workers. In the first paper, were examined the illness perception, stress levels and subjective well-being of the participants and the relationship between these constructs. In the second paper, a pilot intervention protocol was developed and tested, to evaluate its effects on the illness perception and stress management. Both studies were quantitative, being the first a cross-sectional correlational and the second a quasi-experimental design. The participants were 33 workers, divided into hypertensive and normotensive. The instruments used for both studies were biosociodemographic/health behaviors questionnaire, Brief illness perception and Perceived stress scales, additionally PANAS and Life satisfaction scales were used for study 1. In study 1, the results revealed that hypertensive perceived the illness as non-threatening, whereas normotensive perceived hypertension as slightly threatening. In addition, both groups believed that the individual and the treatment have great importance to control the disease. Normotensive had high perception that the illness is symptomatic (identity) and that it causes many consequences for the patient’s life. The results also indicated moderate levels of life satisfaction, stress and positive affect, while the levels of negative affect were low for men and moderate for women. These results allowed a better understanding about illness perception, stress and subjective well-being of hypertensive and normotensive workers, highlighting that both groups were different in terms of illness perception, but similar in levels of subjective well-being and stress. In study 2, the results demonstrated the positive effects of the intervention in both groups, especially through the reduction of stress levels and the increase in the perceptions of comprehension (coherence) and personal control about the illness. These results reinforce the importance of health education as a strategy to promote individual autonomy, aiming the prevention and control of hypertension. In addition, the findings indicated that due to the difference of both clinical conditions, it’s important to personalize future interventions as per the specific needs of each group. The findings of both studies may be useful for planning future strategies for the prevention and control of hypertension with the general population, but especially with workers from different segments.

This Clinical Psychology Master Degree Dissertation focused the analysis of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy process of a child diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder and her pregnant therapist. Firstly, it was made a literature systematic review to access the studies about the theme and to access the possible influences of therapist being pregnant for the psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic process. Secondly, it was made a therapeutic process’ analysis based on the Child Psychotherapy Q-Set (CPQ). This is a descriptive, longitudinal and naturalistic study, in which we adopted the systematic single case study procedure. A eight years old girl and its therapist have participated of this study. The therapist gets pregnant during the treatment. The patient was followed during forty psychotherapy sessions. All the sessions were filmed and analyzed using the CPQ. The therapeutic process was divided into four periods: the first period, before the pregnancy; the second period, when the therapist knew it was pregnant, but the patient had not been informed by the therapist; the third period, the patient consciously knew about the therapist pregnancy and; the fourth and last period, corresponded to the return of the therapist from maternal license. The results reveals how the girl’s psychotherapeutic process has occurred, presenting the manners how the therapist pregnancy has influenced the therapeutic process and the relation with the patient psychopathology. Some CPQ’s items have varied according to the treatment period. Five interactions structures were identified and they describe therapeutic-patient relationship patterns and, positive and negative transference and countertransference matrixes.

The study of school failure proves to be relevant and evident, since their incidence nowadays as well as clinic, individual, and social implications that may affect the people involved. Therefore, this dissertation aimed to understand school failure, defined as distortion between age and the school year attended of two or more years, through the perception of adolescents with a history of school failure as well as their parents and teachers. It is composed of three studies, presented in the form of papers. The first one presents a systematic literature review on school failure in elementary school, from January 2009 to May 2014, in order to analyze the year and country of publication, the focus of the studies, the concept of school failure adopted, the methodological aspects, and the main results. The second paper aimed at understanding the causes and the experience of school failure through the perception of adolescents affected by it, as well as their parents and teachers. Finally, the third study aimed to characterize the work done in the learning accelerated classes in a public school in São Leopoldo - RS, and the effects in adolescents with a background of school failure, their parents and teachers. The empirical studies were qualitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional and their participants formed three distinct groups: adolescents, parents, and teachers, which participated in Focus Groups. It is expected that the data derived from studies contribute as a source of theoretical and empirical information to professionals in the fields of education and health who work with children and adolescents with a history of school failure, so that they may reflect and (re)adjust to this complex and multidimensional phenomenon.

<title>Transição para coparentalidade e a experiência da parentalidade tardia em casais de dupla carreira</title>

<description>Transição para coparentalidade e a experiência da parentalidade tardia em casais de dupla carreira
Fidelis, Daiana Quadros
Parenting transition is an important period in the family system and it has been investigated in both national and international contexts for over 30 years. Coparenting is defined as a subsystem involving two or more adults who share parenting a child, nevertheless few national studies on coparenting were carried out. The difficulties in this transition process as well as dual-career demands have led several couples to postpone maternity/paternity, resulting in late gestation. This study aimed to understand coparenting transition in dual-career couples considering late gestation context. The research design encompassed exploratory, descriptive and qualitative methods. Five heterosexual couples married for over two years participated in the study, in which both spouses displayed professional activities and all women got pregnant after aging 35 years old, not undergoing any fertilization procedure. The employed instruments were a sociodemographic questionnaire, a semi-structured interview on co-parenting (NIEPED, 2006) conducted with each couple, and individual interviews were posteriorly scheduled with either mothers or fathers, who answered the Maternity Experience Survey or the Paternity Experience Survey designed by the research group (NUDIF, 1999a; 1999b). The results were split and reported in two empirical papers; the first one was entitled “Late Parenting Experience: Fathers and Mothers’ Perceptions” and the second one was “Conjugality and Late Coparenting in Dual Career Couples”. The data shed light on changes in the transition process, in which both mother and father equally divided the responsibility regarding the child, as well as domestic tasks, reverberating in high conjugal quality levels. Thus, despite changes in couple’s social routine and the substantial weekly workloads faced by them, participants demonstrated adaptability to the transition process.

<title>Conflitos conjugais e estratégias de resolução: percepções de um grupo focal</title>

<description>Conflitos conjugais e estratégias de resolução: percepções de um grupo focal
Costa, Crístofer Batista da
The aim of this dissertation was to investigate the reasons of conflict, their levels, the conflict resolution strategies and the reverberation of these factors on marital. This is a joint study in which quantitative data were collected through the marital conflict scale and quality through a focus group. In the quantitative stage 200 individuals responded to marital conflict scale and qualitative nine people participated in a focus group. Quantitative data were submitted to mean comparison analysis and qualitative content analysis. The survey results showed the children, the experiences in their birth family, finance, different characteristics and preferences of each spouse and the time to be together as the most evident reasons of conflict. Feelings, expectations and the willingness to dialogue are crucial to the resolution of conflicts and depend on their characteristics and the changes that occur over time of marriage. Marital conflict and resolution strategies are inherent in the conjugality, they interact systemically and they are associated as the time of marriage and personal characteristics of the couple. The topic in question needs more investigation because of its size and because it is a phenomenon that is constantly being updated.
