<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13264</link>
Horch, Vittoria Porciuncula
Although climate change affects everyone, its impacts are not felt equally, as women are more exposed and vulnerable to these changes. The NDCs are an important tool for advancing the UNFCCC and align the efforts of parties to plan and maintain the goals they intend to achieve. The inclusion of gender in NDCs is key to holding countries accountable in translating their ambitions to gender equity and to ensuring that the progress already made is respected. The present work aimed to analyze the NDCs presented by South American countries, seeking to understand whether these documents recognize and/or have integrated gender equity in their proposals and aimed to identify whether these proposals take into account the intersectionality characteristic of Latin American decolonial feminism. The Decolonial Feminist Theory, centers its theory on debates concerning gender, race, and class identity, taking into consideration how society in the Global South has been constructed. In addition, The International Relations Feminist Theory was used as justification for the research, as the paper understands the need for more research focused on gender and the importance of women in decision-making positions. The methodology was adopted in a qualitative way based on an exploratory study with documentary and bibliographic research. In this work, reports, portfolios and discussions of the UNFCCC, COP21, in particular the Paris Agreement and the NDCs of the analyzed countries were used as sources. In addition, analyses of scholars in the area of climate change, climate justice, and gender equity were consulted for the development of the paper. Finally, this work analyzed the NDCs of the 12 South American countries, for a matter of time, and it was concluded as positive the issue of the gender approach, with only 1 country not mentioning gender and/or women. When analyzing the intersectional application, most did not apply the approach, and when they did, only gender and class were considered, not taking into account race as a gender inequality and in the application of the policies developed.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13263</link>
Lohmann, Milena Adrieli
The 21st century has been marked by many changes in the most diverse aspects of human life. From the popularization of radio to the invention of the Internet, advances in information technology have impacted the relationship between individuals and the way knowledge, customs, and ideas are transmitted. In this context, societies and the international system have also changed, to the point that theorists consider the emergence of an information society, or knowledge society. Emerging alongside these changes, globalization has also brought its impact, generating, among its many effects, the displacement of industries. Thus, pioneering countries in the industrial field, such as the United Kingdom, began to face a progressive reduction in this sector, which historically has been fundamental to their international insertion. It is in this context of cultural change that the creative industries emerge, as a response to the socioeconomic framework of deindustrialization. Since their rise, the creative industries have been conquering more and more space in international discussions, arousing the interest of countries and international organizations. When it comes to these industries, the case of the United Kingdom is the reference for its pioneering association of the theme to a political and economic agenda. Given this scenario, this work is presented as exploratory research with a qualitative approach, which used mainly secondary sources to present the United Kingdom's creative industries and their role in the country's international insertion since the 1990s, when the term "Creative Industries" was coined. Throughout the research, information gathered from available bibliographical sources proved the important positive effects of the creative industries on the United Kingdom's international insertion. In this sense, the creative industries collaborate with the international insertion of the United Kingdom by 1) promoting a positive image of the country; and 2) being characterized as one of the most important industrial sectors of the United Kingdom.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13261</link>
Alves, Kethelin Wisnieski Barretto
In recent years, the increase in available data and the greater processing capacity of computers has led to an evolution of artificial intelligence. This technology, as one of the key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is increasingly present in our lives and is transforming the world. It is not yet known what impacts the development and use of artificial intelligence will have in the world and therefore there is an increasing amount of research on the subject. Even so, there are relatively few researches that deal with the subject in the area of International Relations, therefore, this monograph seeks to bring greater contributions to the area of International Relations. The general objective of this work, therefore, is to understand the configuration of Artificial Intelligence in the European Union, since the bloc is one of the most relevant geographic regions on the subject, due to its approach, which seeks to collectively respond to the challenges generated by Artificial Intelligence while guides its development and use for the benefit of its member states. As for the methodology used, this study is an exploratory research with a qualitative approach, as it is a relatively new topic with few studies. Through this study it is understood that artificial intelligence is a challenge for the European Union, but mainly an opportunity. The bloc is gaining advantages by guiding the development and use of artificial intelligence and becoming a world reference on the subject, showing the importance of policies that guide the development of this technology.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13139</link>
Few countries have changed their Nation Brand in a short period like Qatar. To better understand what motivated this turn of the State of Qatar, it is necessary to study its history from when the Ottoman Empire dominated the Arabian Peninsula, passing the events in the region until its independence and the last three rulers. The purpose of this work is to analyze the Qatari initiatives in education and sport, more specifically soccer, instruments so that the international perception was reformulated. For this, the notions of soft power Nation branding, and historical contextualization of the small Emirado will be used to understand the events that made Qatar need to improve its image before the international society. To this end, bibliographical research and news from government portals, news from the region, and media outlets specialized in football will be used as sources of information. It is expected to understand how advances in power projection with Qatar Foundation, Education City and Qatar Sports Investment interfere and contribute to the projection of soft power Qatari as a Nation branding strategy of its shaken international image. Since the well-known human rights violations and the notorious reputation of being a conservative petromonarchy have tarnished Qatar’s international image, thus clouding plans to enhance its international image.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13133</link>
Within the International Relations, this research addresses the main characteristics of the luxury consumer market in China, from its formation to the current molds. Seeking to answer how the Chinese luxury market is presented, this study - using qualitative research tools - was able, throughout its five chapters, to illustrate the main characteristics of the luxury market, consumption and consumer of the Asian country. Currently, consumption is seen as a differentiating factor between individuals. Consuming, for some time, is no longer simply a pragmatic act aimed at the utility of the consumed object. Nowadays, in addition to consuming a good, its meanings and symbologies are consumed as well, aiming to satisfy personal desires and achieve prestigious images among different social groups. The luxury products and services market represents the epitome of this process, signaling status and distinction to its select and restricted group of consumers. The ode to opulence and ostentation are intrinsic factors in this universe, whose existence dates back to Ancient Egypt. Currently, the luxury market is mainly controlled by big names from the western industry, who are incessantly looking for new growth opportunities around the globe. In China, brands of this segment were faced with a long-repressed demand, due to political, social and economic ideals of the Maoist Era. With the structural reforms undertaken in 1978 in the country by Deng Xiaoping, named as the "Open Door Policy" - which made China's economic opening to foreign investment possible - a process began that enabled the accumulation of individual capital in China and the creation of a Chinese capitalist class. From this, with the increase of the purchasing power of the Chinese population, luxury brands began to seek a space in this market. The Chinese, whose appreciation for luxury items dates back to the Tang and Ming imperial dynasties, were able to reconnect with their culture and, with the mass entry of Western luxury brands in the country, began to claim greater representation of the culture in the products and an increase in the participation of Chinese designers and employees in the brands. Supported by its importance for the luxury industry, given that the consumer market for luxury products and services in China is - currently - the second largest in the world, the population begins to pressure the industry and, the consequences of this phenomenon, may leverage the prestige and recognition of Chinese culture on a global level. Assiduous luxury consumers, the Chinese could, in 2025, represent 40% of the world's total luxury consumption, making it the largest consumer market for luxury goods in the world, displacing the current first place, the United States.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11790</link>
Bernardes, Nicole Soares
The Lula government's foreign policy was marked by a period of emphasis on the regional integration process and greater Brazilian participation in the international system, through participation in multilateral negotiations and forums, as well as participating in and commanding the United Nations Mission for the Stabilization of Haiti, MINUSTAH, an essential fact for the increase of Brazilian soft power. In this sense, the objective of this monograph is to answer how the Lula Government's foreign policy enabled Brazilian participation in MINUSTAH and projected Brazil's image on the international stage. Therefore, the research approach method will be qualitative and literature review, through a historical investigation of UN peacekeeping missions and the participation of Brazil in MINUSTAH, using secondary sources, such as specialized and non-specialized periodicals, dissertations, and theses, and relying on primary sources such as official documents of the Brazilian Government and the UN. The justification for this work is due to the intense efforts of Brazil carried out in the mission, in addition to its important contribution to international security. Furthermore, with this study, it is intended to contribute to a greater dissemination of knowledge about this period and the Brazilian participation in the mission, in addition to providing another source of research on the subject.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11789</link>
The work in question aims to analyze how economic insertion influenced the differentiation of &#13;
the economic development of the countries that compose the Asian Tigers and the Southern &#13;
Cone between the 1960s and 1990s. The analysis, presented in the form of a case study, &#13;
investigates the domestic and external factors that marked the development of the regions under &#13;
analysis. For this, the British theory of International Political Economy is used, as well as the &#13;
developmental theoretical contributions formulated in the Latin American continent with the &#13;
aim of complementing the theoretical framework. Specifically, the objective was to analyze the &#13;
development history of the regions in question; analyze how the insertion in the &#13;
internationalization processes affected the regional development of these countries; and how &#13;
externally promoted economic assumptions influenced these processes. According to the &#13;
factors analyzed, it was possible to conclude that the way in which national states implemented &#13;
their developmental projects, as well as the way they conducted their international insertion and &#13;
responded to external recommendations, was the main differentiating factor in the development &#13;
of the regions. In addition, this differentiation was influenced by the rise of liberal assumptions, &#13;
adopted by the South American economies, which began to prioritize market needs over &#13;
domestic needs for growth and development.

This work is a descriptive study, which seeks to understand the bilateral relations between &#13;
Brazil and Germany, within the scope of international environmental cooperation. The purpose &#13;
of the study is to answer how the bilateral environmental cooperation between these countries &#13;
lasts, specially because they have different positions about the subject. Through the analysis of &#13;
a predetermined period between the administrations of Gerhard Schröder (1998-2005) and &#13;
Angela Merkel (2005-2018), using the qualitative methodology, a description of the foreign &#13;
and environmental policies of Brazil and Germany and the phenomenon of their environmental &#13;
cooperation is provided. It also presents the motivations, benefits, and challenges of &#13;
environmental cooperation as well as the description of their international cooperation projects &#13;
for development. As theoretical framework, the present study focuses on the phenomenon of &#13;
complex interdependence, by Keohane and Nye (2001), and the understanding of how the &#13;
international regime, verified by Krasner (2012), helps the mechanisms of international &#13;
cooperation. In the end, it is understood that international environmental cooperation between &#13;
Brazil and Germany continues to take place, even with the presence of variations in external &#13;
and environmental policies of these governments.

Metz, Laura Elis
Germany is known worldwide for being the country of automobiles. This work &#13;
addresses the history of the modern automobile, created in the state of Baden &#13;
Württemberg, as well as the development of the sector in world terms. It is in this &#13;
region that automakers and suppliers, several universities and research institutes and &#13;
an active public sector are found, giving rise to an automotive cluster in the area. This &#13;
cluster is one of the biggest and most successful in the world, considering its &#13;
competitive advantage and its international projection. Furthermore, it is Germany's &#13;
largest vehicle producer and exporter. Therefore, the objective of this work was to &#13;
explore the characteristics of the Baden Württemberg automotive cluster, analyzing &#13;
the importance of innovation for the acquisition of a competitive advantage and for &#13;
international projection. It was sought to examine: the characteristics of cluster &#13;
formation; the factors that enable the creation of a competitive advantage; the &#13;
development of a smart power strategy; and the importance of regional integration and &#13;
involved projects for investment in technology and innovation.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11781</link>
Bordas, Hugo Raymundo
In the Brazilian academy of International Relations, few studies address the Nagorno Karabakh issue. Existing studies are coined by positivism and do not cover identity issues, which are paramount to the understanding of conflict. In order to include the concept of identity, this study was coined as interpretative research using the constructivist perspective while focusing on the relationship between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. Taking these factors into account, the main objective of this research was established: to understand how Pan-Turkism influences the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In order to achieve this, three specific objectives were established: (1) to explore the ideology of Pan-Turkism by the role of ethno-identity issues; (2) to understand the role of the other in the concept of identity; and (3) to observe the necessary conditions for the development of an ethnic conflict. The first objective yielded the following results: Pan-Turkism is born of irredentism, through Turkic nationalisms molded under ethnic precepts, and develops influencing identities. Connecting with identity issues, the findings of the second objective are centered on the fact that there is no creation of an identity without the conception of the other, which automatically differs societies. Finally, the third objective proves the importance of an ethno-identity analysis for the region, since emotional and ideological motivations, resulting from and prejudice, evoked violence between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. In relation to the main objective, it was found that the Pan-Turkic movement and its theory are present in the region in a way that appears to be subjective, but that considerably influences the local political-social reality. The central role of Pan-Turkism lies in local identities which, through the theoretical construction of the other, reproduces prejudices and fears, essential to the unfolding of ethnic violence.

<title>O comércio exterior brasileiro no âmbito do Mercosul</title>
<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11780</link>
<description>O comércio exterior brasileiro no âmbito do Mercosul
Barros, Henrique Schardosim de
This monograph is intended to analyze how the regional integration process that&#13;
generated the creation of Mercosur took place, and to expose the importance that&#13;
this bloc has within the Brazilian Foreign Policy. For that, the precedents of&#13;
integration, the historical origin of the bloc, the institutional development process&#13;
and the characterization of the different phases of the bloc were exposed. The&#13;
general objective of this work is to analyze the commercial exchanges between&#13;
Brazil and the other Mercosur members, from the Regional Integration process,&#13;
contemporary characteristic of the International System. This work is also&#13;
concerned with analyzing trade flows between Brazil and other Mercosur member&#13;
states, collecting trade data through the main foreign trade databases. Regarding&#13;
methodology, this work stands out for its qualitative and also quantitative method,&#13;
since it uses official websites, mostly within the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade&#13;
and Services (MDIC) environment. In synthetics, the reports were taken from the&#13;
ministry's main page, and the data, from the ComexStat platform, also made&#13;
available by the MDIC. Among the results found, one can observe the leadership&#13;
role that Brazil plays in the region, whether in the political or commercial sphere.&#13;
Brazil is the great commercial partner of all member states, and responsible for&#13;
absorbing most of the real estate in the region. Likewise, in the political sphere it&#13;
is also a protagonist, most of the time dictating, together with Argentina, the pace&#13;
of institutional development in the bloc.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/11776</link>
Reolon, Felipe Barboza
The welfare state’s origins can be dated back to Germany in the 19th century, based on the &#13;
ideals of social protection implemented by Bismarck. The Nordic Model, consecutively, adapting &#13;
this system to the Scandinavian principles of equality and universalism, attained greater notoriety &#13;
in the 20th century with the adoption of Keynes' contributions to the international economy by the &#13;
international community. At the end of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century, the &#13;
globalization phenomenon intensified in an unprecedented manner due to the reduction of &#13;
geographical and communication barriers amidst the creation of new technologies. This work aims, &#13;
therefore, to understand how the Swedish welfare state is affected by the globalization process, &#13;
from an International Political Economy approach, assimilating the role of the national state in the &#13;
international context of the 21st century. As a result, it can be seen that globalization has had effects &#13;
on the Swedish domestic system in the political, economic, and social spheres.

Gender relations are a recent research topic within the area of International Relations &#13;
(IR). Therefore, considering the lack of studies and visibility on the subject within this &#13;
discipline and the international and national political context of several countries, it is &#13;
extremely necessary that the history and the present are discussed from a perspective that &#13;
prioritizes gender issues in order so that women conquer their space in the public and private &#13;
spheres of society. In this sense, this monograph seeks to analyze the possible impact of the &#13;
British suffrage movement, which campaigned for the female vote, on the United Kingdom's &#13;
foreign policy during the period of World War I (1914-1918). To this end, the research will be &#13;
guided by the Feminist Theory of International Relations, especially from the vision of the &#13;
author Ann Tickner, and by the Foreign Policy Analysis of the Two Level Game, formulated &#13;
by Robert Putnam. Thus, it is possible to emphasize that, although there are achievements in &#13;
the struggle for women's civil rights and for the public and political space of women, it is still &#13;
necessary that they are recognized as actors in the system in order to be able to impact it and &#13;
change it. The objective of this work is to contribute to a more plural thought in the Academy &#13;
and to inspire greater female participation in national and international decision-making &#13;
spaces.

<description>Os atores não-estatais e estatais no mundo cibernético e sua influência no sistema internacional
Bronzatti, Arthur Martini
There are few works, within the discipline of International Relations (IR), that &#13;
reflect on the effects of the development of Cyberspace and new digital technologies &#13;
on the International System and all the elements that compose it. The lack of attention &#13;
given to this topic leads to widespread misinformation, where even established &#13;
academics end up developing erroneous and exaggerated conceptions about the &#13;
functioning of the cyber world, which ultimately leads those responsible for creating &#13;
public policies aimed at regulating the digital domain to make unfounded decisions that &#13;
only create greater problems. Based on this, the objective of this monograph is to&#13;
explore and discuss the main characteristics of Cyberspace, as well as reflect on how &#13;
it affects the actions of States and non-state actors. The work was written through an &#13;
exploratory methodology of descriptive nature, and was able to conclude that, despite &#13;
being able to empower individuals and minority groups, the use of Cyberspace alone &#13;
by activists or terrorists has an insignificant impact on the International System. &#13;
However, the use of the virtual world can be valuable to those states that possess the &#13;
knowledge and ability to manipulate it intelligently, especially if used to interfere in the &#13;
political decisions of different nations.

Ughini, Andressa Carvalho
Climate change-related displacements are one of the most serious consequences caused by this &#13;
phenomenon and could displace between 25 million and 1 billion people in the next four &#13;
decades. Under the scope of International Law, there is a legal gap that does not assign any &#13;
specific protection to those individuals. Due to this lack of mechanisms to provide legal &#13;
protection, this study demonstrates how the principle of "non-refoulement" is used to ensure &#13;
the safeguarding of these individuals within the International Refugee Regime and the &#13;
International Human Rights Regime. The main objective is to understand how this customary &#13;
norm can be used and what its limitations are within each Regime. The study uses as an example &#13;
the Teitiota case, considered one of the first "environmental refugees", Ioane Teitiota claimed &#13;
that this principle was violated by the New Zealand government after sending him back to &#13;
Kiribati. It is concluded that the application of this mechanism can offer protection and ensure &#13;
the safeguarding of the fundamental rights of those environmentally displaced. Its adoption can &#13;
be beneficial, within the scope of the International Regimes, when it can be proven that there &#13;
has been a violation of human rights in the country of origin, or when the individual's situation &#13;
is compatible with the framework foreseen in the 1951 Convention and its Additional Protocol. &#13;
The completion of the present study is based on the fact that the climate crisis issue causes &#13;
several damages and affects all societies, and this situation of forced displacement tends to &#13;
worsen over the years. Hence, in case there is no immediate action from the International &#13;
System to promote the mitigation of the risks associated with the reasons causing global &#13;
warming, nor to guarantee the protection of these climate change-related displacements, the &#13;
situation may involve a humanitarian crisis.

<description>Made in china 2025 como ferramenta de projeção internacional: o caso do setor de veículos de novas energias
Souza, Alyssa Mancuso de
In the scope of International Relationships China’s surfacing is discussed since 1978. &#13;
The country’s economic growth entailed an increase of the CO2 emissions and, in the addressing &#13;
of that issue, the Chinese government focused on ecologic policies and on evolving their &#13;
manufactures in order to become more efficient and greener. Through the 13th Five-Year Plan, &#13;
in 2016, the Chinese People’s Party (CPP) implemented the project Made in China (MIC 2025) &#13;
which aims towards fostering ten industrial segments. The present work focuses on the new &#13;
energy vehicle sector. In this scope, it applies relational theory with aims of analyzing how the &#13;
new energy vehicle sector within the MIC 2025 is pertinent for China’s international projection. &#13;
Throughout this work, the relational theory will also be presented contrasted to the classic &#13;
western international relationship theories; identifying Chinese governance from the history of &#13;
the CPP’s consolidation and the five-year plans; and analyzing the importance of the MIC 2025 &#13;
in the new energy vehicles segment for China’s International Projection. This paper is &#13;
developed throughout qualitative and analytical methodologies of a specific case. The findings &#13;
show China’s emerging is based on its relationship modus towards international society and the &#13;
adscribement to the International System, helped by the new energy vehicles segment and their &#13;
relationships with structures and domestic and foreign actors provide the scope for sustainable &#13;
and economic global trends.
