Magis inaciano e discernimento: fortalezas para gestão

Abstract

The main objective of the present work is to analyze the challenges of the Ignatian way of proceeding in relation to traces of neoliberalism that have an affinity with the countless setbacks that existed at the beginning of the 21st century, from the context of Colégio Medianeira and contributions from directors of the Jesuit Education Network. The methodology applied was the qualitative approach, divided into three moments: the first is dedicated to structuring the study in line with the author's motivations; the second, the elaboration of the theoretical framework through bibliographic and documentary research; and the third, the collection and analysis of data through an on-line questionnaire addressed to directors in charge of Jesuit schools in Brazil. The main conclusion of the research was that the Ignatian magis and the discernment continue to be management strengths for the common good, even in crisis scenarios, as they act as a driving force in the professionals of the Society of Jesus for self-awareness and inventiveness. However, the analysis showed that fidelity to the mission in the face of the neoliberal context is not a simple task. Thus, at the end of this research, a proposal for intervention at the Colégio Medianeira is suggested, which provides for the regular training of its intermediate leaders with a focus on the exchange of experiences on the approximation of the concepts of the Ignatian charism with praxis. It is understood that the strategy can enable greater engagement with the mission and the overcoming of neoliberal trends in the school environment.
