Índice de avaliação da qualidade da paisagem urbana

Abstract

The research provides a new approach regarding landscape quality issues related to the decision making process in urban projects, and the theme is to characterize the main urban elements to define the guidelines that will indicate the potentialities and fragilities of the space urban. The objective of the present study is to determine the indicators related to aspects of the quality of the urban landscape through the elaboration of an index, in order to create a tool that helps in the elaboration of environmental diagnoses in urban landscapes. The methodological procedures consist of a bibliographical review of the elements present in the urban landscape and through case studies. The indicators composing the Urban Landscape Quality Index consist of: (i) color; (ii) form; and, (iii) vegetation, and these elements were subsidized by variables that define the scores. In order to test the application of the index, a case study was carried out in an area of Bairro Jardim América, in the city of Caxias do Sul. The results indicate that the quality levels obtained through the application of the Index were compatible with the perception of urban landscape quality.
